Since I got in, we haven't stopped going to the - 17 Mar 2026 - (5,018 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank

Since I got in, we haven't stopped going to the prom stuff, so that was lovely.
A guy on a scooter, so that was brilliant.
I've had a lady drop me in some labels.
She said these are the labels you've got to use for your knitwear.
So she dropped me off a pack of them, thank you very much.
Lovely suit he's brought in, and the shoes are brand new.
I've had some donations that I got at work.
This is one thing that I did, because she cleans all the CDs.
I've got some lovely stuff in here, beautiful.
Absolutely stunning stuff, so heavy.
And then I had a nice shelf out the front, a lady from Blackwood gave me.
I'm using the table, she gave me to put my jigsaws on.
I got a lady interested in this mystery box, she will take it halfway back.
Yes, so I got... this little shelf fits quite nicely.
Then I had another lady brought me in some books.
Primarily, well she brought me the books for the shop, but I said I'll probably use them for the nurses.
You know, and the NHS staff.
But I've just put them there for now.
Because I have got some already in the house.
We've had a couple of our regulars in from Splot.
I couldn't get in because they had so much stuff here this morning.
I've had a volunteer that did this with my hangers, I'm overhanged at the moment.
Overhanged, so they'll probably go up for sale they will, for now.
But I always keep 500 in reserve, just in case we get a shop overnight.
I've got... we had 300 VHS's donated.
Top sellers VHS's, used to be computer games, not anymore.
I've got a mystery box there I'm filling up.
I think we've got four mystery boxes today.
They won't last long.
I've had some vintage Disney, so I'm going to have a look at them now.
My mother's checked all of them.
I think they came off St. David's, thank you.
So I'm just having a look now.
But I've had the same... oh, this lady hasn't come in.
We'll keep it there because we need the stuff gone.
That lovely thing has come in.
I've got bath bombs in there.
I've had stuff for the booty bank.
Well, probably put them on the food bank because they're shower gels.
They're more useful on the food bank than the booty bank.
But stint, you know, comes under the same air, doesn't it?
So I'm going to have a look at these now because there's some beautiful things in there.
And I don't want them broke.
Absolutely lovely.
We had a guy turn up this morning, a customer.
And he came in and he did some shopping.
And he wanted to know, were we the shop from Abergavenny?
So I said no, because we're not.
There's quite a few charity shops in Abergavenny, so I probably wouldn't go there.
And I don't know what the rents are like anyway.
There's quite a few big ones there.
And there's another big children's charity there.
So we probably wouldn't go there.
He said, oh, right, OK, well, I'll come in and I'll support you then because I don't support them because they keep all the money.
I said, ah, I said, I know which charity you're talking about.
I said, are you sure that they keep all the money?
I said, because people say that about us.
I said, but we don't keep the money.
You know, the money goes into running the baby bank and whatever's left goes into food banks, nappies, baby milk, whatever somebody needs.
You know, we sent out a journal last week, a mental health journal from them to help her because she was really struggling.
Oh, I've forgotten to chase that up to make sure she's got it because I posted it out to you because we were too busy to drop off, sorry.
So I think they were about it was about six pound for a mental health journal.
But that came out of the fundraising, obviously.
So I just thought I'd address to you now that that charity that you're talking about and people say this about us.
OK, so we are a trademarked registered CIC.
So we need we would need to have our finances audited by an audited accountant, not just a bookkeeper or an accountant or my mother.
Right.
It has to be done by an audited accountant.
So once the every year, once the accountant has done their work, they have to have a separate auditing firm come in and make sure they are doing their job right, because it's public funds.
Now, the charity that this guy is talking about, I know, and they have had a lot of abuse themselves.
And it isn't very nice when you're having abuse online.
And that's why, you know, we warned them about these charities when they when they came into our area.
OK.
And told them don't work with them because and they have actually put out a statement to say that they don't work with any other charity because they are being portrayed to be working with another charity.
One of the ones that's giving us problems and one of the ones that gave Ian Smith problems and gave other people problems.
So what I will say is that is a very large registered charity and that charity's finances would be scrutinized by an audited accountant.
OK.
They take quite a lot of money a year.
They have quite a bit of big expenditure and they probably have quite a few grants coming in.
And they've been they're well established.
You know, I don't know how long they've been going, but they've been going at least five years like we have.
And they've been a registered charity longer than we've been a registered CIC.
So what I will say to you is don't believe everything you read online.
OK, because well, number one, a lot of it is AI at the moment.
And number two, a lot of it is by jealous charities, not jealous individuals, because the public just bumble along and carry on what they're doing.
You know, all the public want to do is support somebody and get a bargain at the end of the day.
Right.
That's all they want to do.
And all they want to know is that they're giving their donations to somebody who's not going to chuck them in the bin and they're going to do something useful with them, like the prom suit and the suit, which we're going to put up with the prom staff and the shoes that's coming today.
Yeah.
And we do prom higher for ten pound.
You know, bring it back when you're finished with it, because somebody will use it next year.
So what I will say to you is be very, very careful what you're listening to online.
OK, because number one, if I was using a false identity, do you think the council would be able to make me pay my bills?
Because if I was using a fake identity, I wouldn't pay my bills with the council.
So the council would shut you down.
If you don't pay your rates and you don't pay this and you don't pay that and you don't do that, they would shut you down.
You have to prove to the council you have insurance and have a documentation, and you have to prove your identity.
Same with when you register for a trademark or you register to become a CIC or a charity.
You have to prove this information and you can't just send a photocopy.
You have to take your original documents down to the council or they have to have them or you have to send them off and they have to look at them and then somebody has to audit them to make sure that those documents are legal.
So please don't believe everything that you hear on Facebook.
There are lots of different things going around about lots of different charities today and I've never bothered looking into this other lady's finances because as far as I'm concerned, on the outside she looks perfectly like a normal charity.
She's very popular, like us.
She's had to expand, like us.
And I mean, you know, they're a registered charity and they've been going longer than us so they can access grants quicker and faster.
And they've had a lot of abuse before because we've given them support when they've had the abuse and they've, you know, given us support now that we're having abuse.
So what you need to look at is you need to look at how big the charity is, how big the CIC is, how big the community interest company is or the constituted community group, which is what we were before.
We were a registered CIC, which is still regulated by the council.
You need to look how big they are and how well they're doing and then you need to look at the people who are making up the fake accounts, making the statements online and how crap their lives are and how crap their charities are, how they're being arrested,
how they're on bail, how they're being arrested for fraud.
Let me give you an example.
It's going to involve one of these charities that we have a problem with, but let me give you an example.
Last year they had a grant for Minibus.
They then used that grant to pay one of the trustees' companies that was run by the trustee, which is fraud.
They knew what they were doing because one of them is a compliance officer.
Therefore, they committed fraud.
They then went down to the council to have a finance meeting.
They then released a statement saying that the tickets for the buses have gone up this year because last year it was heavily substituted with grants and this year they haven't gone up.
Why do you think they didn't get the finance this year and the grants for the buses this year?
Because there isn't a regularity that's being investigated by the police, by the charity commission, by the council.
So they didn't get that funding this year.
The proof is there for you.
It's all there in blue and white on Facebook.
You can see it all.
The proof is there.
Did I go digging for that information?
No, I didn't.
Would I have even bothered to look at that information if they weren't targeting me?
Probably not.
Did I report them?
Yes, I did.
Because I will 100% hold my hand up to everything that I say or do.
Okay?
So what I will say to you is, because obviously we could have lost a customer and this is the second time and it was a different fella.
This was the second time that somebody's come down here and said, are you this charity from such and such?
Which is a big charity and is regulated by audited accountants and the charity commission.
So they're not doing anything illegal because they would have been shut down or suspended.
Which, can I just add, other charities that have caused us a problem which are on this group that is giving us abuse have been shut down by the charity commission, by the CIC regulator.
Another coincidence.
Please be very, very careful what you're listening to online.
Okay?
I had somebody last night question my identity again.
I then sent any ID that I had next to me at the time off to them to prove to them who I were and then they ended up looking really, really stupid.
Because I had the ID to back it up.
I shouldn't have to keep proving my identity five years down the line.
If they think I'm somebody else, they think I'm somebody else.
It's as simple as that.
Okay?
My bills still find their way to me.
So, I haven't hidden my identity that well.
Otherwise I wouldn't be getting my bills, would I, guys?
Simple as that.
And I would have been arrested by now for committing identity fraud.
And what I will say is that the people on the other group that are slagging us off, that run charities, that have been shut down, there's quite a few that's been shut down, yeah?
You've got Cwtch-Up, shut down.
You've got Hope, no-bus-sick, shut down.
You've got Caerphilly Birdship Rescue, shut down.
Yeah?
You've got one that's under investigation by the police.
And another one, the trustee, have had to step down.
Because we keep sending information to the charity commission and they keep pulling her up.
So she can no longer be a trustee.
Because that charity will get targeted otherwise.
So by stepping down as a trustee, and just being a volunteer, is taking the pressure off the charity while they clean up their mess.
That's what you need to look at.
Those people running our group have stolen my identity.
Because their fake accounts are in my name and they're using my pictures.
They've stolen my identity.
They're ringing up the council pretending to be me.
They're ringing up the fire brigade pretending to be me.
They've stolen my identity.
So please, be really, really careful what you believe online.
Because these two gentlemen that we've experienced down here have come down here and have a preconceived idea about a charity that's running Abbekeveni.
Have they even been to it?
Have they even gone and spoken to the trustees and the owners?
Probably never.
But they also branded us as being the same charity.
But they wouldn't be running.
This is a highly regulated system.
Look at Captain Tom's daughter.
She soon got shut down.
She flaunted the system for her own benefit and they caught her out and they shut her down.
Now just remember, out of the five charities that we've named three, well one of them weren't even a charity I don't even know what they were, right?
Three, shut down.
Shut down.
One of them under investigation by the police and the Charity Commission.
The other one, the trustee of Atta Stepdown.
Am I under investigation?
Nope.
Have I got a good relationship with the councils?
Yes.
Do they give me good advice?
Yes.
Do I always listen to it?
No.
Do I have good advice off the Fire Brigade?
Absolutely.
Have they done nothing but help us?
Absolutely.
And they've also helped us with a problem that we've had this week that I couldn't access something and they have rung up and they've accessed it for me.
The Fire Brigade.
They've gone out of their way to do that for me because it's holding me up doing what I need to do to get to where they need me to be.
And I didn't even ask them to do that.
So...
Please don't believe anything online unless you've done your research first.
Because believe me if that charity was up to no good either flagged up on my radar they usually do, don't they?
And it's not flagging up on my radar at all.
And it wouldn't.
It took nearly 500,000 pounds last year I believe this charity that they're talking about that would be regulated by an audited accountant and it wouldn't just be regulated at the standard level of taking that amount of money.
Trust me.
But also just for you to be aware that we aren't anything to do with the one in Abergavenny.
But I would class her as a friend.
I don't know her, I've never met her but I understand that she's gone through a boost and it's not very nice and I would be there to support anybody who's gone through a boost like we're going through.
But please, please, please do your research first.
Okay?
Don't believe the research of the other groups.
Go away and do it yourself first.
Ring the council, ring the police.
Ring the fire brigade.
Yourself.
Don't believe what they're putting online.
Yeah?
They put something online the other day didn't they?
Or they're not allowed to do this?
They're not allowed to use Jane's Baby Bank and Charity Shop.
Financial Conduct Authority, the highest people you could get in the UK have authorised us to use that name.
We're not using it.
We're using Foodbank Fundraising Shop because it works better for us.
But we're authorised by the highest Financial Conduct Authority in the UK to use that name and that logo and it's trademarked.
Have they got trademarks?
No.
Why haven't they got trademarks?
Think about it guys.
Think about it.
When somebody is successful as us, successful as the one from our Cavani these other charities don't like it.
And if you look at the one they're sharing their post all the time.
And this other lady have had to come out and she's had to say I just want to make everybody aware that we're not affiliated with any other charity.
Right?
Because they're sharing her post all the time on their page to make it look like they are affiliated with her.
And they had a booth on their page and they're a good charity.
They're a registered, audited by an audited accountant charity.
Did the Charity Commission shut them down when they were having a booth?
No they didn't.
They supported them.
Because they weren't doing anything wrong.
But what you need to look at is that this other little charity this other charity, this bigger one has come into this area where we're having the booths where Ian Smith had all the booths.
Where other charities had all the booths.
And now they've come into this area and now they're having a booths off the same people.
The same groups of people.
How bizarre.
How very very bizarre that they are now in this area and now they're starting to get a booths themselves.
Because they've refused to work with anybody else.
They don't need to.
If you're successful you don't need to.
It's nice to work with other people but you don't need to say well I'm working with this charity.
I'm working with this shop.
I'm doing that.
I'm doing this.
I'm doing that.
You don't need to.
If you're successful you don't need to.
You don't need to keep latching on to other people's success.
I don't.
I don't need to.
I'm very appreciative of anybody who helps us out.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
And we've had some fantastic people.
And what happens as soon as somebody helps us out?
That organisation gets dived on by the haters.
Go over to that page and clock the names.
Well half of them are using false identities.
Go on there and clock the names of the people that's on there.
Keep a note.
Keep a list.
Next time somebody has problems.
Next time another charity.
Next time another CIC.
Next time another good group has problems.
Have a look.
Same people all the time guys.
Same people turning up all the time.
Do your research.
Do your research.
If I was in here stealing money I'd have been shut down by now.
Because I'd have been arrested.
Especially now with a registered CIC.
They've got no grounds to arrest me.
I'm not doing anything wrong.
You can't get arrested for recycling.
You can't get arrested for paying the bills out of the money that you receive.
Which is what registered CICs do.
From the staff that's donated kindly by the public and other businesses and other charities.
Recording that information and then using the money the profit that's made on top of that.
So if we take a thousand pound a month and we only need to spend five hundred pound a month.
The other five hundred pound goes on to the need for the community.
Which will be the nappies, the food banks the formula etc.
Which is all recorded.
Because you have to.
Because we're audited by an audited accountant.
Yeah.
Do you really really think if I wasn't doing that.
Don't you think I would have been arrested by now?
If everything that they were saying on that other page was true.
Don't you think I would have been arrested now?
If everything they were saying about that other charity in Abergavenny.
Which they're not only in Abergavenny.
Right?
Was true.
Don't you think they'd have been arrested by now and shut down?
Think about it guys.
Who's under investigation?
I'm not.
They're not.
We're just carrying on what we do.
Both of us.
We're just out here recycling like a mother...
Yeah?
And using the money for good causes.
And that's another children's charity that they've targeted.
Bearing in mind that none of them were doing anything to do with children.
It was all homeless.
Wasn't it?
All homelessness.
Yeah?
Nobody was doing anything to do with children until we started.
So they just jumped on somebody else's bandwagon.
Jumped on somebody else's idea.
They can't even make up their own ideas, can they guys?
So I just wanted to point out that don't judge people by what you're reading on Facebook.
We are not affiliated with any other charity.
We get support from other charities and we're very, very grateful for it.
So, like I said guys, do your research first.
And go across to the group.
Report the group.
And if you don't like anything in there please screenshot it and send it to the police and say, I'm not happy with what's being said in this group.
I think it's bullying.
I think it's stalking.
I think it's harassment.
And it's upsetting me as a member of the public.
Which you're more than welcome to do.
You are more than allowed to do that as an individual.
And it will only back up our case if you do that.
And I know some of you have already done it.
But please, what I want you to do as our followers is I don't want you to go on that Facebook and gob them off and say blah blah blah blah blah.
I don't want you to do that.
What I want you to do is when you're out in the community, because word of mouth is the best.
Okay?
When somebody says to you, oh change to BabyBank, oh that place in Abergavenny.
I want you to say, hang on.
Hang on.
No.
No.
They are registered trademarked CICs and charities.
They have never been arrested for anything to do with the organisation.
They are good.
This is an abusive group.
And it's the same people all the time.
Do that for us guys.
Spread it word of mouth.
If somebody says to you, James BabyBank, blah blah blah blah blah.
Say, hang on.
Hang on a minute now.
These people are jealous.
Their charities are going down the pan.
Rapidly.
Rapidly.
Three out of the five now have been shut down.
Yeah, and the other ones are starting to get targeted.
Have you noticed?
And the police said to me, do you know if it's any of your followers that are targeting them?
I said, well, none of my followers have told me.
And if they asked me, I would say, well, you know, thank you very much.
Thank you very much if you are targeting them.
Because it's about time they had it.
And maybe if the police pulled their fingers out a bit, then maybe the public wouldn't be targeting them.
But as far as I'm aware, I don't know any of you that have been.
But thank you very much if you have.
Because they do deserve it.
You'd think they'd be more concerned about running their own groups, wouldn't you?
And think what they could achieve if they did.
They wouldn't be in the situations they're in now where they're being investigated.
If they behaved.
If they just got on with what they were doing.
Wouldn't they, guys?
Right.
Shall we have a look what's in here?
They're really cute.
What's this?
It's not border collie.
Is it a border collie?
Yeah, I think it is, isn't it?
Are they border collies?
They're lush.
This one's really heavy.
Like I said, it's a pleasure to open your donations, guys.
Absolute pleasure to open them.
99.9% It really is a pleasure to open your donations.
And sometimes we don't convey that because we're limited for time.
We've got loads of stuff going on.
That's lovely.
What's it called?
Duchess.
Oh, I like that.
I think I had stuff like this when I first moved out.
I wanted a set from our boss.
It was a new set.
It was a new one.
And I bought it.
Hiya, are you alright?
Yes, yes.
It's all half price.
I like them.
Give me a shout if you need me or you'll get lost.
I don't think we have them.
Let's have a look.
But 9 times out of 10 I don't get a chance to say.
But look at the beautiful stuff we do have.
Is it a complete set?
Probably not.
But we'll still take it.
I know there's some charities that won't take it unless it's a full set.
I do.
I could do with some metal sheds if anybody wants to donate some.
Or help us for fundraising.
Because then I could keep the odd China in the metal sheds.
Because they will still sell odd China.
Believe it or not.
Somebody will have to let him, right?
Put under plants.
Well, you've got the cups to him anyway.
But I could do with having a metal shed now for odd China.
Oh, he's stuck.
That's not pulling by his ear, is it?
Oh,
little Robin.
He's cute.
But yes, very often I have to put things online and I have to say things like don't send in dirty stains.
You know, because I haven't had chance to go through all the nice stuff.
Because we're just so busy.
We've got so much on.
Look how lovely they are.
That's nice.
What's it called?
Loving hands, that's called.
That's lovely, isn't it?
There's a couple in there, I think.
But like I said, we've had lovely and we've came to the prom where we get that over Ponty Pool.
There we are.
That's lovely.
I can't see the plaque on there.
That's lovely.
Somebody will have it.
It might not be your first, but somebody will have it.
Oh, look at this one.
An owl.
I used to have a teacher that collected owls and we when she retired, we bought her something like this.
I think it was in the newspaper years ago when I was in infant school.
Mrs. Morgan, her name was, and she liked owls and we bought her an owl.
Christopher Holt and Co.
We bought her an owl.
Oh my gosh.
Ornament of all the children, you know, when she retired.
But look, beautiful stuff, guys.
And this is what they don't like.
And we have sort of talked about over Christmas.
It was me, Dan and Sammy in the donation center.
We talked about perhaps we shouldn't be showing them the donations that we get in.
Perhaps that's riling them up.
You know, perhaps they don't, because they're very covetous if you notice.
They don't say what grants they got.
They don't say what discounts they've had.
They don't say what they've been given.
And we're quite transparent about it.
But, is that riling up their jealousy?
I mean, I like to be transparent and say to you, look at all these lovely things we've got here.
But will they be annoyed today?
Look at that.
We've had some, I tell you, we've got some fantastic elephants in Cafini shop, if you're looking for elephants.
We've had loads of elephants in.
How lovely.
I like that.
It's nice.
I don't really collect elephants, but I like it with all the sparkly bits on.
But maybe that's what's riling them up, guys, is the fact that we show everything that we've got and it's all on show and we're quite transparent about it.
And that's what they don't like.
What's this one?
Young Love.
They don't say which is
who the manufacturer is like.
Are they lovely?
Somebody will have them.
I'm sure.
Some people paint them though.
Anyway, they do things with them.
Oh, look at our little glass slipper.
We'll go to the ball, Cinderella.
Oh, I've got a head off.
One for my father.
That's all right.
You'll fix it.
Was it Wine?
Wine Lovers by Leonardo.
So it's a Leonardo one, this one.
But his head come off.
It might be a Jack and Jilly bit.
But my dad will glue him.
He's got good glue.
He'll get that back on.
What's this?
I don't know what that is.
I'll have to have a look.
This might just be a stamp.
We take stamps as well, guys.
Even if they're new stamps.
I think the guide dogs used to take stamps.
Thank you very much, guys.
I've seen them before.
They do them before, I think.
Lots of birds in here.
What's this one?
I can't see.
It's a nice one, isn't it?
But yeah, like I said, sometimes you don't, you know, I've got a limited amount of time.
And I've got to say, you can't take this.
You can't take that.
You can't take sofas, you know.
But we don't tell you how lovely the other stuff is that's coming in.
I mean, people who shop with us know how lovely our stuff is.
My grandfather used to like birds.
I've got a bit of dolphins going on there.
What's this?
A spoon?
Spoons don't go well.
Tunisia.
But is this?
