Hi guys, we've been busy - 16 Feb 2026 - (1,034 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank

Hi guys, we've been busy.
We've had quite a few people in today and all my mystery boxes have sold.
So that's good.
I use the boxes from the shops.
See, when they have empty boxes they put them outside and they often say to me join the box because they have good delivery boxes, they're good strong ones.
So I'm like, oh yeah, I'll have that for my books and whatever.
And anyway, I had loads of itty-bitty stuff to do and I was like, I can't, I just can't get on top of it.
So I was like, right, let's do a couple of mystery boxes.
I think we've sold 18 altogether.
I put them down to three quid, which is good.
So I've done that
and they've gone.
So hopefully I get some more boxes and perhaps put some more in there.
The itty-bitty stuff had a chance to work.
Regroup, start again, because people only donate it when they finish with it.
So it's not like you ever lose anything, you know.
So we've had a bit of I'm sorry.
I got it wrong.
Your shop wasn't shut down.
You're just having time off or whatever, you know, short staffed.
It's winter.
Do we need every shop open in winter?
Probably not.
You know, that's why I didn't bother taking anybody on December and January.
People were asking and I was like, no, there's no point.
We're on a wind down.
I don't want to be training staff when I'm on a wind down.
Wind down and a wind up for spring.
You know, I don't function in the cold.
So I'd rather not be having staff everywhere while I'm sat there shivering in a corner, trying to price up some stuff.
So anyway, instead of saying, oh no, I'm really sorry.
I'm wrong.
I've removed my post.
I'm really sorry.
No, it's like, oh no, and then you did this and you did that and then have you read the post on the you did this and I did that.
Yeah, the police are closing the case because you haven't got any evidence.
Yeah.
And they're going to speak to her about posting pictures and what is suitable to be posted on Facebook.
And if you post pictures like that, then you're going to have people's opinions on them.
And also they're going to close her case against me because that now they've got my evidence.
They can now see that she actually started it.
So there we are, you know, and please remember these individuals that are running these groups, they're all designing stuff by AI and all the rest of it.
And you know, it might look real, but is it real?
You know, is it real?
Because it's AI.
You don't know do you?
I'm sure there'll be laws coming out in the next couple of years about AI because people are definitely misusing it.
And this is what the old fuss is about, isn't it?
Is that they're trying to make a web of lies about us by using AI and context, you know, and content to try and distort what is actually going on.
Like, you know, where there's all we're doing is running a baby bank, a food bank and a couple of second hand shops quite successfully.
And they don't like it because we're more popular than them.
Yeah.
So anyway, we talked about this over when we were doing the donations and I talked about it with senior staff and what have you.
Maybe we shouldn't be putting the amount of donations on display.
Like I'm transparent.
So I'd rather be transparent with you all and say, look, this is what I've had in.
This is what I haven't had in.
This is what I've sold.
This is what I've made.
But maybe we shouldn't because I think that is what's making them jealous.
You know, because they can see how many donations we're getting in, in comparison to what they get given.
And I think perhaps that's why they're kicking off.
So I think because we've always used every room in every shop to sell from, you know, it's only recently because we've, we need to expand and we're waiting on rents to drop for warehouses that we've actually, you know, filled up rooms and said, right,
that's a storage room now, which is in Pontypool.
Primarily.
Well, got two of them in Cuffin, believe it or not.
So I'm wondering, maybe we get the warehouses, take a picture of the warehouses with the empty racking, the new one, say, that's it, put it, because we've only got half a screen to stop the public from walking through in the donation centre one, you know,
only for a safety requirement.
But actually, should we board it right the way to the top so people cannot actually see what is being donated?
And although, yes, it's brilliant.
And the majority of people that donate think it's brilliant because it's all being recycled.
You have this group of haters, this minority of haters that are jealous.
And maybe that's riling them up if they don't see what we get donated.
If we don't say we've been given a thousand pound, we've been given two thousand more than three thousand pound, there may be, you know, I mean, they're still going to hate, because they're just those type of people, you know.
I'm just pleased that the police have been out and they're starting to take it seriously now.
And maybe it is because we got a CIC number now.
Are you going to stop?
No, I'll stop for you then.
Because you didn't just cut me up, you cut the lorry up.
Always wanting it, guys.
So don't forget we close a bit earlier on a Monday, because we've got other stuff to do.
I mean, we've been there since 10.
So what's that?
10, 11, 12, 1, 2, 3.
That's five hours of trading for a Monday in both shops.
It's not bad, is it?
I know there's volunteers that want to start.
Maybe give us now till the end of February and we'll get you in.
All right?
