Evening, guys - 31 Jan 2026 - (2,861 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank
Evening, guys.
Are you aware that the baby bank and the food bank are two separate entities?
Now there was a comment made earlier, because I'm aware that some people are new followers, some people are old followers and some people don't even realise we've got multiple shops and other locations.
So there was a rage bait comment put up earlier on one of the saying I got a load of free stuff I want to give it to a baby bank and all the one that charges and then another, which was made anonymously, then another anonymous post underneath saying oh Jayne's Baby Bank blah blah blah.
Anyway the admins deleted it because it's a load of rubbish.
So are you aware that the baby bank is kept?
Because I was going to go, but I thought no, no, hang on, right, because we know the haters are stupid, but our followers are not, okay, but they make our followers may not know this, especially new followers.
So are you aware that Jayne's Baby Bank is kept in a separate building in a separate area of South Wales?
Now I don't always give out the locations because a I don't want stuff dumped outside in ruin because I can't check it every day.
B I don't want the haters reporting to fire Ghostbusters, the Pope and whoever will listen and health and safety etc every five seconds.
So if they don't know the locations then they can't report it.
So that when we have a report on a public location like a shop which you can go into or the donation center we can say yeah but they haven't reported blah blah blah because they don't know about it.
And then that's why the council and the fire and the Pope and the Ghostbusters and everybody else work with us because they can see their malicious complaints because if they were genuine complaints it would be across the board wouldn't it?
Yeah so I thought I'd go through this review now.
I'm not going to be giving out loads of locations okay.
Now we do take items from the shops because of the amount of donations we have.
We couldn't possibly keep it all under one roof.
Okay and what we decided to do was not just a baby bank but we decided to do a food bank as well because that's what mother's needed.
Yeah so we sell the excess if donators are happy for it to be donated to use for the baby bank we write baby bank only on it okay.
If it comes in as a donation for fundraising then it goes to the fundraising shops which are called the food bank fundraising shops.
Yeah it's the same logo but a different name on it.
So these are all different locations okay.
So we have up to 10 locations which I don't think a lot of people realize that.
Okay so this is the baby bank or part of the baby bank that we don't disclose the location of okay.
Because people will be reporting it.
People will turn up and dump stuff outside and then I don't want that because I can't get to this location every day to check on it okay.
Because obviously when I look at these places I pick up like there's I've been offered shops cheaper in Merthyr but I can't get there every day to keep an eye on it can I you know.
But then again registering as a CIC this is where this will help us because we can now employ staff.
So they'll have a contract so they'll have to turn up a work one day you know.
So they'll have to go in most days.
Right so that's our baby bank there okay.
We do take stuff from the shop.
If somebody brought in 10 bags of baby clothes for fundraising and we haven't got enough of six to nine or whatever in the baby bank or the bundles that the volunteers make up etc.
Then we will take it from the shop.
We'll take it out of the fundraising stuff and give it out.
Same as when we have a fire you know.
If somebody's had a house fire we'll like take it from the shop because this shop is full of stuff so just take a pile of it from there and then that cuts down the amount that we got in the shops.
We need three to four warehouses on top of more shops to cope with what's coming in.
You don't see half the stuff that's coming in.
You think you've seen half the stuff that's coming in but you've literally seen less than a quarter of what donations we get in a year.
I can tell you that now okay.
You only see what's in the public domain.
You don't see what I'm not putting up okay.
This is the donation centre.
We don't gift out prams because I've had so many people having prams and selling them on that I'm not doing it anymore.
Moses baskets.
If I get too many Moses baskets I sell them off for a quid or tell people to pick them up for free or whatever you know.
Because we gift out Moses baskets but I could gift out 10 Moses baskets in a day and have 20 in tomorrow.
We get thousands of them.
We even offer them out to the funeral service as well because they buy them because sometimes they have to get rid of them because they get damaged or sometimes the mother wants to hang on to the Moses basket so we let them do it.
So if we've got a Moses basket and we've got fire labels on we give it to the funeral parlours you know.
There's lots of things we do that perhaps you don't realize that we do and maybe I don't articulate as well but we are running a massive massive operation and I mean you know I need an airport full of people to run it at this stage.
I really do.
So we don't gift out prams anymore because we've had no end of problems with people begging for prams and then they get sold on straight away right.
So if you want it you have to buy it.
It's as simple as that.
We gift out clothes and some baby accessories and things like that and food banks and baby milk and nappies.
Which is enough I think.
It's enough to be gifting out.
So that's the donation centre on a different day.
This is the only one that we've got and that is open to the public when we're fully staffed and fully manned and everything is sorted.
Now obviously we've changed that now because you can see how big it is and now we've got racking that basically fills it haven't we.
So you can see before it was literally like a postage stamp size that we were using within that building.
Now we're using the full capacity.
So the food that you see in the shops isn't the food bank.
Are you aware of that?
So if somebody puts in a request for a food bank that's not what they get okay.
This is what they get.
We'll go out and pick it up and because it's fresh we pick it up fresh yeah.
So are you aware of that?
That this food that you see advertised in the shops is the five item top-up shop which is additional to our food bank.
So as we've gone down the line okay the years that we've been doing it we're now in a position to give we started off with only three items.
I mean we started off where you could only have nappies, pack of sanitary towels or a tin or something you know that's all we could do.
But then we went up to three items and now we're up to five.
So a mother who's got children who are who are older than babies that don't need nappies or maybe she don't need nappies because she got the washable ones.
We were finding that they have other children and they needed other food for the children yeah.
So the food that you see there is for the children okay.
We're the only child and baby food bank in the UK okay.
So you couldn't come in if you were a single person or an elderly person and use this five item top-up or our food bank.
We're the only child and baby food bank in the UK.
The food that you see behind the tills in the shop is the five item top-up which any mother can come in as long as they're a customer or a donator of our shop and pick it up.
Now the difference between us and the pantries okay is that we are a registered food bank which means we don't charge for the food.
However pantries charge for the food and specify a membership.
So we haven't got a membership and we don't charge five pound or a bag for it after it's been donated right.
What we do is say you have to be a customer or a donator.
The minimum spend on the card is a pound so you could spend a pound or you could spend ten pound.
There is no set charge.
This also takes the pressure off our food banks and other national food banks because our mums don't always need a full food bank which is very expensive to produce.
Sometimes they go through their freezers in their cupboards and go oh no I only need a couple of items to get me through the week.
I need corn flakes, two packs of pasta, a jar of pasta sauce and tea bags and I'll get me through the week.
So that takes the pressure off them needing a full food bank and the pressure off our fundraising because they don't need a full food bank which is 35 to 40 sometimes even 50 pound depending on how many is in there.
So again you know these are things that's been donated by fair share that go into our food bank.
That's Caerphilly shop.
So that's one of our food bank fundraising shops okay.
Only ones in the UK.
There is no other food bank fundraising shops in the UK.
It's only us and we were the first yeah.
That is Caerphilly shop there.
It also makes me laugh when people say it's always the same stuff outside the shop.
Well some just because we don't check it out like other charity shops.
So if those items hadn't been sold within 30 days I don't chuck them out and chuck them into landfill right.
Or get some car booter to pick them up for 50p right.
I don't do that.
What I do is I keep it there until it's sold.
If it takes 10 years to sell our bike I'll leave it there for 10 years.
You know that's the point in recycling and being sustainable and having an eco shop isn't it.
Again we've got other shops there.
I think we've got Pontypool, Caerphilly shop with different stuff outside my eye.
Downstairs in Pontypool shop.
The wing room as we call it.
We have numbered them but they all got their quirky little names in Pontypool haven't they.
Upstairs downstairs you know.
Downstairs upstairs you know.
Some people are like I'm lost.
I'm lost.
I'm in upstairs downstairs.
Come and find me.
You know.
And we've also got Riskaroo on there as well.
Everything must go.
I knew that would spark controversy.
You know I actually rang up our rental agency and actually said to them.
I'm putting this in the window.
I've added off the pound shop because it worked for the pound shop.
Everybody went in and bought all their stuff and they only reduced the home stuff by 25% extra.
I know and for two weeks nobody else in the entire of Pontypool had any sales.
And we were like you're not actually getting a deal.
You know that.
I don't know.
So when they left not only did they give us a pile of stuff and trolleys and some equipment and stock.
But I said can I have that big poster in your window so I can put it in my window to see if it works.
And it have worked in all thin ass.
But a lot of people said she's shutting down.
She's shutting down.
She's gone and everything must go.
Everything must go.
Because I have got 20,000 tonnes coming in next week.
It all needs to go.
Right.
Look at us.
50% off.
We've literally been on sale longer than DFS now officially.
We've broke the world record.
DFS you've lost your place now.
That is Caerphilly shop again.
Different stuff outside.
Most of that sold I think.
That's the baby bank with some items that's been hung up.
Undisclosed location.
That's a baby bank bundle that was made up.
It's a lovely one.
Like I said we gift out.
You can either have a Moses basket, a bath, a bouncer or a play mat.
Or you can have all four because we've got thousands.
So that's a naught to 12 bundle that we would do for one baby.
There's another one there.
Okay that's a naught to 12 bundle that we would give out.
That was a lovely one that was because it was all personalised.
So that worked out well.
There's another bundle that we give out.
That's what the lady requested.
A play mat.
It was their first baby and I think the girl cried when she came in and seen it.
Put some books in there as well.
We do you know.
That's Riskaroo.
And that's food banks.
That's five item top up shop in one of our shops.
Okay so that's not a food bank.
But it's still run on the premises of a food bank.
Yeah we're not a pantry.
We don't charge for people or make a subscription.
I could.
I could open one tomorrow.
You know I am thinking about it and then it's not just going to be for babies and mothers.
It can be for everybody you know.
But that is our five item free top up for mums with children under 18 that are customers and donators.
And then that's just our shops.
So I just thought I'd do a video because number one I nearly went down to Newport and slapped somebody with an anonymous name.
And I thought hang on because maybe some people don't realize.
You know like some people you know are posting things about us having CCJs.
Well if you look at the CCJ it's not even under my name.
And there's nobody in that name registered in our company.
You know and I'm quite sure I could tell you now that Pontypool shop has about 20 letters a week with loads of different names on.
And we haven't got a clue all half these people are.
And it's down as Mitros Gallery.
It's down as something else.
It's down as 5B, 5A, 5C.
We had that one day.
We were like who's 5C?
So yes you know maybe you aren't aware that we have other locations that we don't disclose to the public because the public won't go there ever.
And I don't want the haters knowing where they are either.
Including where our rescue is kept for our animals.
Because we don't want them turning up there climbing over fences upsetting the animals.
Creating problems.
Okay.
But I think you can see from my posts earlier and everything that's now evolving from this that the previous Caerphilly bird rescue were all about the money.
Because why would they be so upset about it all now?
Anyway they have opened themselves up to a wider investigation because the IP addresses are all the same as the website.
There's stuff on there that's exactly the same description as the website.
Set up like the website.

And like I said I keep it quiet because not everybody needs to go in there.
Not everybody has got but you know and I can turn around to environmental half and say whatever they haven't they haven't complained about x y and z because they don't even know it exists.
But if I put a location out of where that is tonight you'll have a complaint for the morning and that's why they work with us.
But there we are guys.
Any questions?
Let me know.
Are you aware that the baby bank and the food bank are two separate entities?
