Right, so we've done our clearance, guys - 18 Jan 2026 - (638 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank

Right, so we've done our clearance, guys.
It took us...
They were a bit late turning up, but there was an accident.
It took us 35 to 40 minutes to clear that.
It had all been bagged up ready for us.
So yeah, we did well.
We've done the lowest rate that we do, which is 500, because just a couple of times we've had this landlord and this builder firm now contact us.
So they've paid that across.
That goes into the baby bank fund.
We don't take none of it.
We do all this for free.
I can come in and I can go through it all without it being bagged up, which I'd rather do, I've got to be honest, because people miss so much stuff.
Because you know me, I will recycle anything.
The end of a Hoover, a Hoover pipe.
I've just pulled that out of the bin that they chucked in the bin.
Now a Hoover pipe.
Somebody will want it.
I can tell you that now.
Somebody will come and say, Have you got a Hoover pipe for an XXX box, whatever?
Smoothie Hoover from 1970s.
Yes, it's in the Hoover box.
Let me go and get it.
It's a pound.
Right?
So, you know, any screw, any drawing pen, anything that's on that floor that is useful, I will recycle.
That is what I do.
Right?
That is my autism.
That is my neurodiversity.
Right?
I will recycle whatever I can.
OK?
I would also like to have a separate shop somewhere where we can recycle packaging.
Not just recycle the packaging as in melt it down and make something else.
But actually jars and tubs and things like that that you've washed out.
You know, because my mother said this week I've got some lovely jars.
I said, give them away for free in the shop.
Right?
You'd be surprised how many people come in for jars.
So yes, they've been charged the lowest rate.
They are regulars.
It's taken us 40 minutes.
And they said they rang British Heart Foundation.
They didn't want to know.
They were like, meh, when they come out.
I mean, how much does it cost the van to come out?
And the staff to come out to look at the stuff and go, meh, computer says no.
Yeah?
You know, you might as well as pick up two or three things just to cover the petrol on the van for your charity.
But there we are.
What do I know?
I wouldn't have a clue, would I?
I've only been winging this for five years and being quite successful.
So yes, if you're looking for a clearance job, we can do it.
I don't do it if you've got, if you've had like dogs and then stuff and it's feces and God knows what.
You know, we wouldn't do that.
This one I probably would have turned down to clean.
Well, I didn't clean it to take the staff and bag it up.
But they've done it.
The builders have done it.
So, it was all ready to go.
But this one was quite dirty.
But the clothes and stuff have come from wardrobes and we've washed them anyway, you know.
You know that.
We went and picked them up the other day.
They'd all been pulled out by the charity around the corner in Pontypool, didn't we, you know.
There's people quick enough to slag us off, but then they don't give us praise for when we do things like that.
And clean up the streets for free as well.
Because we do clean up the streets for free.
You don't see that part of it or you don't acknowledge that part of it.
You're too busy moaning, saying I've put a flowery note on something.
