Alright, so evening guys - 7 Jan 2026 - (686 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank
Alright, so evening guys.
I've been working on some books tonight.
We haven't been in the shops as you know.
We've been over the donation centre.
We've had to day off trying to warm up today.
I've been working on... I'm out of novels now, if anybody is going to need a bag.
Bag or two are novels.
I don't need like 52 bags.
I need like, I don't know, three or four bags to get this done.
But I've been making up some little packs to go with them as well.
Like I said, we don't take from the NHS like the others do.
Being the benefit queen I'm quite sure.
They take, take, take, take, take.
And we give to the NHS.
So these are books that have been given to us.
So we've been dropping them off down the hospital.
With little bookmarks in.
Little tarot cards with little tarot card readings in.
For the staff.
Cleaners, doctors, nurses, midwives, physio, whoever picks it up.
We've just been leaving them where we know they frequent.
Where they have their breaks in the hospitals.
And yeah, they've just been picking them up.
So we've had some packets.
So I thought rather than put these in the shops this time.
I'll put them to the books this time and they can have a tea or coffee as well with them, can't they?
So yeah, I'm out of books now.
I could do with them before the weekend.
If anybody can drop off like two packs of books or two, you know, carrier bags or whatever of books.
Then I can get a few more done because I've only got about 10.
So when I go over, I take about 30 or 40 at a time.
And obviously I make these up in my spare time.
Just to say thank you to the NHS staff.
We know the NHS staff.
Spread the word.
And we're very grateful for them.
So yeah, we just do little things like this and give back to the community.
If you've got any little packets like this or any little like businessy type bits and bobs like this type of little packets, you know, the thank you packets or tags or bookmarks or something you bought somewhere down the line for craft that you don't use anything.
Oh, actually, they could use that.
Brilliant.
Just send it in, guys.
Don't leave any donations outside the shops.
We're not going to be there till at least Saturday.
And then it'll depend on the snow.
We've chosen to take this time off because it's it's bad with the weather anyway.
And we don't think there's many people out and about.
So, you know, we don't want people slipping coming into the coming into the shops on the pavements as well.
And it's an ideal opportunity for us to get the next load of racking up in their donation centre.
We've signed a lease, re-signed a lease today for three years, signed another lease for two years.
And then I must have asked about the shop because they wouldn't have just messaged me direct.
But a while ago, I asked about a shop in Moorth.
They've come up and they're willing to drop the rent by a hundred pound a month compared to another business for us.
So, you know, but I haven't got anybody done.
It looks like a small shop.
I don't know.
I get the postcode and I'll have a look at it.
And there's one I'm looking at in Cumbran as well.
Not in the Cumbran centre, but just outside.
But I am still waiting on a blood transfusion.
So I'm really not... I'm hoping to hear back this week or next week about the blood transfusion.
I've had my knee injections and they hurt and they got massive bruises on there.
But I am grateful for them, hence why we give back.
And when they have a day off, they come shopping in our shops.
So, yes, that's where we're at.
We probably won't open until at least Saturday.
And again, snow depending.
