I think we're recording - 10 Dec 2025 - (1,508 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank
I think we're recording.
Am I recording?
I don't know.
Yes, we're recording.
Right, okay, I'm just going to do my eye makeup guys, because we're going out out.
We're not just going out out, we've been invited out out, because we're now influencers.
So me and the team, we're going out to influence.
So we've been invited out for free.
I'm trying to find my thing.
Anyway, this is the palette I'm using.
I've already done some of the makeup.
Okay, that's the one I've got.
I've just put that one.
So I'm just going to do my eyes, because I've got nothing else to wet it up with.
Somebody said about, oh they liked how I did my eye makeup, so this is how I do it.
Quickly, because I'm ill and I can't really be bothered, but we're going out out, so I've got to make an effort.
So I've put a light base on, so I like a shimmer.
So we're going to go shimmer on the lid, just like that.
All out on the shimmer.
I've got awful eye bags, but I don't sleep.
So, you know, what am I going to do?
You know, could do it like 10 hours, well 10 days in bed, 10 hours sleep.
And then perhaps my eye bags will go, but you know, I don't sleep.
There's a price to pay for that.
You get more done, you get eye bags.
And there we are.
That's the eye shadow.
So yes, if you came in today and I looked lamb, there's a reason.
There's a reason, because we're now influencers, and we've been invited out as a local business, and as influencers.
How fab is that?
Right, so I clean my brushes straight away, if I've got the equipment.
This is the brush I'm using from Mac.
Years ago I went to Mac and said, buy everything you use on me, but I need to know how to use it.
Because there's no point having it if you don't know how to use it, is there?
But you have to have the right tools to do the job.
And then I go in, like this, on the corner of my eye, with a dark.
Just like that.
Alright?
Alright, you can see anyone then.
And then I do this here.
On this side guys.
Bit full we are, we've had a donation in we are, so I've got it all ready to work tomorrow.
What is it, coming to see if you had any jeans yet?
Nothing at the moment because I've got all the tops out.
But we do get jeans then, Pontypool is your best one for jeans at the moment.
Pontypool?
Yeah, a Pontypool shop.
Oh, it's the same company?
Yeah, yeah, they've got tons at the moment, up on floor one.
How's it going by, are you ready?
Yeah, not too bad, not too bad at all.
We're doing alright, I like this little shop.
It's got a back garden and everything.
Oh yeah.
It's a fabulous little shop, this one.
It'll get a bit better once they've sorted out.
Yeah, and then the cafe's just opened down by there.
Again, they're a fish and chip shop.
And apparently they're well liked and well known.
They've been there years, so that's good.
Yeah.
So I think it'll be a nice little bunch here now.
Yeah, you'll be alright, no?
Yeah, I think so.
And you'll be surprised how many people walk past in a day, yeah?
Yeah.
You know?
Because when I first came here I thought, oh no, this little shop is dead by you.
But the landlord did us a good deal, dropped the rent twice for us.
Oh yeah.
And like I said, it's got a back garden, so I had gazebos out there.
Yeah.
In the summer.
That's good.
And we had customers out the back, got a patio set out there.
So, you know.
Oh, I love me.
I seen a sign out there on the front door.
Oh yeah, yeah.
New charity shop, right?
Yeah.
I had a few people down for a play.
I haven't had a chance to call up for a play.
Oh, that's alright, we'll still be here tomorrow.
What it is, I don't buy new jeans.
Yeah.
Because what it is, I had to wreck them, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
So I thought if I could pick one or two pairs up, whatever.
Well, lastly, if you're using them, they'd only be like a pound.
What size are you?
Nine to ten.
What, in kids?
Yeah.
Is it a bit of a gamble, you know what I mean?
Yeah, but now I know, see, I can bring them over from one of the other shops, can't I?
Yeah, no problem.
That's the thing, because we've got other shops as well.
Yeah.
I can bring them over from the other shops, can't I for you?
Oh, brilliant.
What do you want me to do, call up next week, or when do you want me to call up?
Yeah, come next week, perhaps.
Yeah.
I'll come up next Wednesday, is it?
Wednesday with short staff, so no, Wednesday's no good for us.
We might not be open, that's the problem with Wednesdays.
I'm trying to think now.
End of the week is probably best.
Alright, what, this week?
Yeah.
No, no, next week.
Gives me a chance to have a look in Pontypool shop then, don't it?
I can have a look there and see what we've got kicking around.
We're bound to have something.
That's it, isn't it?
Bound to have something, so...
Yeah, lovely.
No problem.
Okay, thanks very much.
Yeah, what was your name?
Courtney.
Oh, right, I'm Jane.
Jane.
Yeah, nice to meet you.
Nice to meet you, yeah, yeah, we're sort of summing out.
We're bound to have stuff.
We're currently going through the kids' clothes and selling them off.
So, we'll sell them off till summer.
So, I haven't seen any jeans here.
Yeah.
I'll double check with my son, because he had a look at some clothes.
But nine to ten?
Yeah.
Right, okay, we'll have a look.
I'm sure something will come up.
If they're black, blue, you know, whatever.
You don't even know if I see the colours, so that's great.
That's absolutely great, that is.
Maybe just one or the other, you know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah, fair enough.
Great stuff.
So I call up my week Friday, you said?
Yeah, do that, if we got any.
Okay, brilliant.
Alright, thanks a lot.
No worries, try nice to me too.
Thank you.
I've got my ear stuck in it now.
So, I haven't got any fake lashes on, because I can't cope with at the moment, because I'm not well.
And sometimes I just want to go home and go bed, if I'm honest.
Just lie there.
I don't go to sleep, but I just lie there and relax and lay up flat.
I've got to lie flat as a pancake.
That's what I've got to do, is lie flat as a pancake.
He was a nice chap, wasn't he?
Wasn't he little?
He wants nine to ten jeans.
So if we got any, they'll be over Pontypool.
Because that's where the most of the teenager clothes are.
Now, Pete Burns and Jeffree Star, they do about fifteen layers of mascara.
Now, I would probably do about five.
But I'm not really up to it.
So I'm probably not going to do five.
I've got my eyeliner tattooed on my lip liner.
It's all tattooed on.
Eyebrows tattooed a lot.
Nobody go with eyeliner.
I look like Jackie Chan when I do it.
So it's easier to have it tattooed.
The only thing is they won't do the ends, because if you have a stroke, obviously if you have a stroke, your eye is going to come down.
You've still got to do the ends.
I did buy a thing that does wings.
I think this is Booty Crop.
I've had a lot from the Booty Crop this year.
Made by Mitchell and Booty Crop.
Really gone for it.
But yeah, about twenty years ago I went to Mac.
Booked in, they do your makeup, and I said, look, I'll buy everything you've got, if you show me how to use it.
And they were like, OK.
Here we go then.
And I did.
It cost me £168.
The only thing I didn't buy was a foundation, because the foundation she used on me was really orange.
And I'm like a proper pale, sort of, you know, death warmed up sort of anemic colour.
You know, patchy anemic colour.
I love blusher.
I don't care how much blusher I wear, and I don't care what I look like with my blusher on.
I wear tons of it, because I love it.
Absolutely love blusher.
So yeah, we're going out out.
We've been invited out.
Am I recording?
I don't know.
Yes, we're recording.
Right, okay, I'm just going to do my eye makeup guys, because we're going out out.
