Oh, I'm watching House of the Dragon 2, because I - 7 Dec 2025 - (1,110 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank

Oh, I'm watching House of the Dragon 2, because I didn't realise I hadn't seen it.
And House of the Dragon 3 is coming out soon.
Second time I've watched it now.
This is the second load of episodes.
Anyway, these sheds are delayed.
I'm not happy because I paid Prime Delivery, so I'll probably get the Prime Delivery or whatever refunded now.
I'm gutted because we had a storm, so I want to see how they held up in the storm.
Because I don't want to put all this in it and it gets soaking wet.
It might be that we've got to put these in Polly Pockets and things now, over the winter.
Anyway, so on these I've written suggested donation.
I'm happy to take a donation from The Secret Sheds.
It's a bit of fun in the community, isn't it?
The cake sheds are all the rage at the moment and they look lush.
I haven't got time to bake and put cakes in there.
Oh, and you can imagine the heaters.
Bad enough with these now.
But we'll... Mums and volunteers and people are going to have these in their front gardens.
And... Let me turn this off a minute because I'm frightened.
They're going to have them in their front gardens.
And we've excess donations in.
Things that are a bit slower to move.
You know, word search will go, I know that.
Sometimes perhaps you don't fancy going into a shop.
Sometimes perhaps you just think, what can I do this afternoon with the kids?
Oh, let's go to a secret shed.
Let's find a secret shed.
Pick up some bits in there.
And then I'm not in a full charity shop, spending a fortune.
I'm not in a full B&M or whatever, spending a fortune.
Promoting recycling in the community.
Promoting community spirit.
I'm happy to take suggested donations on these, all right?
So if you pick up that and that and then what is it?
I don't know.
I'm going to get my glasses on now.
£3.50.
I'm happy to take £3 from them, okay?
Right, because they're just excess now.
And it's just a bit of fun, really, in the community and to get people...
You know, sometimes people don't know about us.
People still don't know about us.
They might walk past, see the secret sheds and say, what's this all about?
Pop in there, read the laminated note or ask whoever it is in their garden.
And they might say, well, this is what they do.
But this is like a little outlet, you know, for people like dog walkers that's going past.
Or people who like walking or on the school run, you know.
Things like that.
It's just a bit of fun in it, guys.
You know, like I said, we've got some jigsaws in there and some games.
And it's just a suggested donation, you know.
So what we'd like you to do is explain to, like, youths and teenagers and younger children that obviously it's there for a reason to recycle.
And it's like an honesty box.
There's no cash.
You pay by your card.
And that's fine, you know, that's absolutely fine.
We've got to put CCTV on them because of everything that goes on in the community and all the weirdos that follow us about, you know that.
And you've seen now some of them behave with the cake sheds.
There's a lot of work going into the cake sheds.
I mean, these are just us recycling, you know.
And hopefully, because we've bought them out of fundraisers in the sheds.
I think the 124 I had them for, but some have already painted in nice colours.
But the families can paint them as well.
If they want to paint them like pink and purple spots, they can.
It's up to them.
You know, it's a bit of fun and it's to involve people.
And some of our mothers and volunteers can only work from home.
So it's a little bit of something extra, isn't it, that they can do.
You know, and their neighbours might say, oh, well, I got a bag of books by her.
And then they might say, what about these books, Jane?
And we can say, oh, yeah, put suggested donation on them, £2.50, and put them in the cupboard.
You know, checking off first editions, but put them in the cupboard.
And yeah, yeah, let somebody have them.
And it's all recycling as well, you know, promoting reading, promoting games and things in the community.
I've got a few.
I've got two tablecloths I'm going to hang in mine, because I'm going to put mine out first and then see how it goes.
It's not going to stay there.
But I wanted to see how it weathers in the wind and what idiots it attracts.
You know, because we don't want any of those youths and people coming in and damaging it and robbing it and basically making a mess and checking in everywhere.
We don't want the staff damaged, do we?
You know, the old point is to be sustainable and recycle.
And we're teaching our children how to recycle, aren't we?
That's what we're doing.
And to be sustainable and to take the stigma out of second hand items.
So I think I got, I got a little Spider-Man swimming top, a couple of little Teddies and I think two and then a couple of tablecloths, you know.
And like I said, if you're just walking past, especially in the summer now and the spring, I think it'll go really well.
And it might go well now before Christmas, a few extra gifts and stuff.
People who, maybe they miss the charity shop because they're working.
You know, get a couple of mums that miss it because they're working.
So they don't get a chance to go in there and have a look for games and stuff on the weekend.
Perhaps they've only got an hour in between dropping them off at dance or karate or whatever, taekwondo.
And perhaps they've only got an hour or 45 minutes.
So they might nip to one of our sheds, get a few books and stuff and activities or DVDs for the weekend.
You know, and go from there, don't it guys?
Tired of having my iron levels low.
Dreadful.
I am being very well this weekend.
Thank you to the staff for covering me this weekend.
I am being too good again.
But hopefully now I'll have this iron infusion and the other treatments.
And perhaps I'll perk up a bit, hopefully.
Hopefully.
