Lots of people in the car park today - 2 Dec 2025 - (929 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank

Lots of people in the car park today.
Oh, have you noticed how many Tesco trolleys are hanging around Pontypool?
That'll be because the haters keep reporting us to Tesco, so we've stopped bothering picking them up.
So that means now that Tesco's there, I've got to walk all the way down the hill and come and get their own Tesco trolleys.
Because of course we'd grab them before, maybe bring some stuff from the car, you know, across, and then...
Well, we're doing a bit of work here.
And then, maybe then...
This is a nice shop, this is.
I've never been in it, but I tell you what, it's a good shop.
It's a good security because it's a jewellery shop.
It always looks nice to me.
It'd be ideal, a whole glass cabinet's always in there.
Erm...
Here's this, now.
All-inclusive units for £60 a week.
Tollette.
Oh.
The trouble with this shop is...
It's got a balustrade there, look.
That's going to annoy me.
Because I've got to go round the balustrade with piles of donations, and this shop.
That's going to annoy me, that one, what's that?
It's a bummer, because I can't even lift them over the balustrade, drop them off, and move the car, and then come back.
But yes, if you see millions of trolleys around Pontypool town centre, it's because the haters keep reporting us to test scores for stealing their trolleys when we're not.
We collect them, maybe use them in the meantime, and then Dan takes them back up.
Sammy's pushed them back up the hill.
You know, I've taken one or two up, I'm not really good on the hill, I go round, it's a bit steep for me.
But yeah, so there we are.
Now Pontypool is littered with test score trolleys.
The same as sometimes when you go past charity shops, and bins that we were picking up from before, authorized to.
Now they're all strewn across the floor, littering the towns again.
Because you do nothing but complain about it, so we're like, well, leave those bags there.
Lots of birds today.
But do you see what I mean, they don't get these on Pentriban Street.
I think it's the asbestos on the roof of that thing, they stay away from it.
Well, it might be down now anyway, because they've taken most of it down, haven't they?
Right, so Dan's crossing bits.
Oh, he's doing well, he's got loads out already.
Well done.
Well done.
We'll just check the bottom door.
He's probably already walked past the bottom door.
We always do this, check all our alarms we've gone off for weeks.
They were on TikTok.
I think they're having trouble planning permission with that.
That's the trouble with Pontipool, is that a lot of it is planning permission.
Because of the age of the buildings, they can't do nothing with it, you know.
Nothing there, nothing there, signs still there.
Could put one of those little cake sheds there, no cakes, yet.
But I don't know would it get pulled about in the evenings.
Hello.
We could probably put one here, but we'd probably have to ask the market place.
But it might sit quite nicely there.
But we wouldn't be able to be on a slant on it.
We wouldn't be able to attach it to any of that, see.
Because this is all really tall.
It's beautiful, isn't it?
I love their giant deck chair.
I love giant deck chair.
I love giant deck chair.
Right, more stores this way, yeah?
Because what I thought was...
I might not do it, I think it's going to be a problem.
Or even... no, it'd be sticking out, see, wouldn't it?
If we had it there permanently.
Whereas if we put it on here, one of those cake sheds, but it's going to be DVDs and books and you can make a donation, when you open the door, then you'll have room to get in, won't you?
But you see, like, the haters just pull all our signs off the doors and stuff.
So would we have a problem?
I mean, we've got CCTV out the front, and now we've got colleagues across, you know, other businesses and colleagues across the way, they've got CCTV on our premises as well.
But it's just a ball ache all the time, isn't it?
Looking for these people on CCTV.
But yes, if you'd like to host one, like, inside your building, like that, it's a little shed, you know, like a cake shed.
Erm, that'd be great.
Or a little bookshelf for us.
We can replenish it, all we ask is if it needs maintenance or tidying or something, let us know.
There's loads of people in the car park today.
Oh, vapes have trimmed out, lovely.
They painted on us that, I don't know.
Look nice, don't they?
And they have.
Lovely.
Lovely, lovely, lovely.
I'll go get that basket back round we have, to the other charity.
They've given us the stuff, but we'll go get a basket round, a nicer one, so we can have that lot left.
Well, OK, yeah, got that out.
Maybe empty that in there now.
Yes, I see that, yeah, yeah, it's a decent basket for your play, I do agree.
I do agree.
I feel like I want a pressure wash, everything going near today.
It needs a good pressure wash, doesn't it?
It's because of the rain and all.
Right, well, let's crack on, guys.
