So, morning guys - 23 Oct 2025 - (1,469 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank

So, morning guys.
I thought we'd do a little video on charity shop prices.
We've got quite a lot of charities as such.
Just a drop in price.
We're currently on 75% off.
It's a bit small.
I can't see it.
So, they have got ornaments in there.
And they've been reduced to £10, by the look of it.
Lots of place on those.
They've got £10 on a vintage car.
That's about what we've got.
I'm not sure we've got that set.
I can't see what prices they've got.
£15 on that set.
So, I just thought we'd do a comparison.
£3.50 is about what we have on there.
Some of their bigger pictures.
Dearer, I would say.
Because if that wasn't really worth anything, it was just £7.50-£3.50.
£10 on this one.
That one looks hand painted.
I would recommend that they research that.
Can I see the price?
I think they've got £3 on them.
It depends really.
What I find is canvas is fade.
So, I tend to pull them up cheaper.
They can get broke then.
Or sometimes my painters use them.
My painters use them for bits and bobs.
Sometimes when they're painting, they're in the middle of painting.
We've sort of skipped that.
It's windy.
Big storm today, isn't it, guys?
50% on selected items.
Yeah, I think most people are doing a sale, aren't they?
£15 on the bag.
I don't know why.
You don't say why.
I've no shade on any of these charters, my guys.
We're just doing a little bit out of touch with prices.
Because I don't shop anywhere other than the baby bank anymore.
Previously I used to shop in a... and that looks like the name of the shop, doesn't it?
Previously I used to shop in quite large charters, but we're a little bit out of touch now.
I want to see how they're doing with the... oh, that's a nice gold for £2.50.
But that would be £2.50, whereas we'd be 75% off that price if we added on there.
A little bit out of touch with what prices they're using.
Please do not leave donations out of sight, yeah.
Do I ever leave donations out of sight, guys?
Because...
Five on the roses.
We'd do that at a pound.
Or three.
Ah, books.
No, nobody does books like we do books.
We know that.
We know that.
That one's up for £7.
That one's up for £7.
This one's up for £3.
Oh, maybe people do do books, I guess.
I don't know.
That's very vintage, isn't it?
This is nice, isn't it?
This little gate to get in, I like that one.
So, what have we got here?
So, we're looking at £4.50.
And some are cheaper.
£2.25, but it was £6.50 for an AX Paris, but it's very...
Oh, nice boots.
They're nice, and I like boots.
I think they're boots.
OK, no shade on anybody else.
Everybody got a job to do.
So, £10.
So, I think we are very much on a...
on a par, guys,
with...
our prices, but we do massive...
Oh, I wonder if they've got any rating sets.
We do massive offers and discounts, don't we?
So, I think our initial pricing is good.
See, that's £4.
Which is our country rose.
Probably what we would do.
Yeah, rating sets and look at sets we're looking for, guys.
Oh, he has stuff about head height.
Well, how do we have that when we've been told we can't?
One that's been on me.
One of the cards, but Christmas cards, no one was looking for.
What a nice pose.
Oh, that's nice.
Look at this looking.
Look at that girl.
Oh,
these are plates, Sammy.
So, they've got five on them.
But we get ten of those.
So, I just keep on with the £2.50.
Changing rooms, not sure where I'll take on changing rooms, guys.
Oh, that's nice.
Don't really bother.
We can do it in the toilet if they want to change.
In the toilet, they can.
£5.
These would be £1, see, in our shop.
Maybe the next might be dearer.
That one would be £1.
That one wouldn't be £7.
That's a bargain if anyone's looking for it today.
That would be up £20 with us.
That would be £1.
£1.
£1.
£2.10, they've got ours would be £1.
Blazers, they've got up for like £15.
I find they don't sell very well.
I'd rather just put them on the pound, really.
I wouldn't get a shot of them.
Lovely furry jumpers that they have.
Mine, covered in cat says, is a cashmere.
£2.50, change baby one.
That's nice, isn't it?
I like that for myself.
£4.
I like that.
I like a bit of sparkle too.
Well, we're still doing our sparkle appeal.
I know I said no donations, but if you've got something that's like, you know, outweigh for mothers, just let me know.
That's nice, isn't it?
£3.50.
These would all be a pound in our shop.
I think we're still trumps for the...
Do you know these?
Are they all for £5 or are they individually?
I still think we're the cheapest around for clothes.
Monsoon, I would have put that up because it's a vintage one.
So that would be £10 in my shop, I would say.
But then the basic clothing.
£1.70 because it's obviously been here a while.
£3.50.
So these would all be a pound in our shop.
We've got a pound full of bags for £5.
And you don't need to book to come in.
It's not an event.
Sometimes I put it up as an event just to get other people either were looking for events.
These would be £1 in our shop.
That's nice, and I like that.
But I don't like the sleeves.
It's nice, it's nicely laid out.
The shop, lovely hangers all matching.
That's my dream to have hangers much.
But it's an expense that we don't need in the baby bank, isn't it?
Buying brand new hangers.
If they come in, they come in.
But if somebody wants to buy them for us, they can.
Now this would be a pound.
And it's for you, but it would be a pound in our shop.
Look.
It's got a hole in it.
That one obviously, it's got a hole in it.
That's why I give it back to you.
All right, it's over there somewhere.
All right?
So we have to sit and see.
Only human at the end of the day.
Only human will get thousands of pounds of donations.
That's thousands of pounds.
Thousands of donations every day.
I like them.
All 75.
What size?
Look at the insides.
Look like a three in there.
We've taken it in the back.
We've taken it in the back to have a look.
Shouldn't have been giving out flyers, shouldn't they?
What's this in pajamas?
Our pajamas are five pounds.
Yeah.
So ours are five pounds, but obviously they'd be in the same five percent off, so they'd be one pound on today.
So I think I'm just going to have a quick video of the tops.
Oh, no, no, I just passed it to you before somebody complains.
That's all.
That's lovely, isn't it?
He's up for 170 today, guys.
It's nice.
We've got Dumbo on him as well.
Last to me there.
I've done that one, guys.
That's a well-known one, and it used to be one of my favorites before the pandemic.
It used to be a proper rummage shop.
It's not a rummage shop anymore.
It's still a nice shop.
Don't get me wrong.
It's lovely.
Will our shops ever be like that?
Probably not, because of the volume of stuff that we get in.
I don't know if you caught the stock room, because they've got this part as their stock room, you see.
I don't know if you caught the stock room or mine.
It was very empty, I thought.
We don't have stock rooms.
We just fill the shop.
Fill the shop and hope for the best.
But they've got those things that they've built that they keep donation bags in.
Can you see them?
That's good.
They've got a donation door there.
That's good.
No books, DVDs, linen bedding.
We're the same, though.
I didn't want to do it, guys, but I had to because we just can't.
And I know well, so I'm not putting in the hours in the evening where I would have been.
Is that £20?
Yeah, I would have probably put that up as £20.
What is it?
If it's a model, yeah, I would have probably done the same, but obviously we'd be on 75% off.
The most joke.
And that's quite cheap for that joke.
£2.
The joke's a good seller.
That's a collectible, a China one, so £3.25.
I'd say we're probably on a par with these prices.
The only difference is we're 75% off.
And we're still a bag.
