And what we're seeing at the moment trending all over social media and the media about the girl from Airdrie, Kira Cousins, who faked a pregnancy and actually tried to pass off a reborn doll as her own child, we've actually seen very similar to this before in the case of Libby Vernon from Staffordshire.
She was jailed for twice tricking her partner into believing she was pregnant.
So what actually happened with Libby is that she told her partner that she was expecting twins.
At some point during the pregnancy she said that she had lost one of the babies and they grieved together for the loss of one of their twins.
And then she said that she had one twin left still and they were going to have a healthy pregnancy and delivery of the baby that was remaining.
Now she spun a web of lies for over 13 months with a man that she'd met online.
She constructed a fake life about a job, home and relations when she met him and later announced she was pregnant with his baby even though she was not.
They too had a gender reveal party where they burst balloons together and revealed the gender of a baby, a female.
Now Willett later went to court where she was sentenced to six months for 10 counts of malicious communication, basically sending false communication to him about a baby.
He went on to say that his life had been torn apart, his family's life had been torn apart, and he had been left grieving babies that never existed but felt very real to him.
Now she went on to actually apparently deliver the baby, send him pictures of the baby, and then she told him the baby had passed away from sudden infant death syndrome.
She even went as far as sending the father a fake death certificate.
Now at this point they weren't together but had decided that they were going to raise the children together, co-parent, and he had been very excited.
