So I'm just gonna try and screen record this - 21 Oct 2025 - (1,513 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank
So I'm just gonna try and screen record this.
This is one of our Vinted accounts.
So these are our pound clause.
Now this is what we get a lot of.
We've tried to do in the DERA stuff online on Vinted and they say we put up a cope, we put it up for ten, probably worth more than twenty, twenty-five, but we put it up for ten and then they're knocking it down to like three, four.
So there's no point just putting the expensive stuff we find on Vinted.
We find that actually it sells better in the shops.
We just put it on the twenty pound rail or the ten pound rail and they tick over or we hang a couple of coats or a nice top in the window and it'll go.
The child's Ralph Lauren coat went today, it went for twenty pound I think in the sale, yeah it was twenty.
They bought some other stuff as well.
So it's the pound clause that we need to get I'm happy to do two, three for two because we do that in Pontypool and we do fill a bag for a fiver on them, we get so many.
And we're in the process of working with a company that's gonna put out clothes banks but as you know I, well we work with cash for clothes anyway, I think they think well we might as well work with her than against her.
They ring me up and they're like we got 300 bags of jumpers in the middle of June like I'm like yeah yeah I'll have them.
So we'll have like clothing banks dotted around the place.
We couldn't have them before because obviously we needed to establish who these idiots were that would target them.
We know who they are now don't we?
So if people see them hanging around our clothing bins and set fire to them we know who they are.
So we'd have them dotted around but our clothing banks will be different because we'd obviously go through the clothing banks because you know I don't see the point in having a clothing bank if you're just gonna get cash for clothes prices.
There's no point is it?
But that's why cash for clothes work with us.
So we are working with them.
So we're going to, like I said, we cream off the top.
So if we've got something that's like vintage black label M&S, something that's M&S is really good quality.
You know some of these are not that brilliant quality but they'd be in the pound shop or and if they didn't go off the pound rails we'd put them in the Pontypool pound shop and they'd go and fill a bag for a fight there.
Which ticks over really well.
I think we're on to fill a bag for £2.50, are we guys?
£2.50 because otherwise we've got to go up there and tidy it up.
So it's easier to do a sale.
So this is what we need you to do is just add them on, pound.
We're not bothered about them.
These were, these were actually, this bag was a nightmare because all the labels were out.
So I was like oh approximately a 12, you know approximately a 16.
So we've written them on there and I've uploaded them because obviously you need to upload daily to keep putting yourself to the top of the algorithm.
So we've learnt a couple of tricks along the way with vintage.
So a few people have favoured them already.
They probably can't believe the prices.
Like I've got up for £5 but we would take less, you know, because I know that people do buy these vintage shirts but that didn't have a size on it.
That didn't, that was quite thick.
They were nice leggings.
I only put them up for a pound but they felt really nice.
Nice George top but I'd accept a pound for that, you know.
They were a bummer, those trousers because they had a label in them but it looked like it'd come off something else.
It was like stuck in there, like a George label that was stuck.
I was like well is this the right size?
I know these t-shirts are a bit warm but they might be okay for somebody for work or garden or bed, you know.
I mean, you know how busy I am.
I haven't got time to display it properly.
They were nice jeans but somebody had slipped the top to have a bit of more room I think but they'd be okay.
And then I got some deer or stuff there.
As you can see, you know, it's just sat there.
People are interested in it but they don't want to pay the £75 for it, you know.
Oh, the blue jacket have sold.
I need to try and change that because the blue jacket did sell.
So we've got some other stuff on there.
Children's clothes are three for a pound or sometimes we'll do fill a bag for a fiver on there.
And that means that the mothers from England and Ireland, they can access same deals that however mothers can access in So they're still supporting us.
I'm feeling awful, especially in the morning.
So some of these coats are gone.
I got to try and go through the bundle that I've got because they've gone.
Some of these have.
I'm pretty sure that stripy top are gone.
But we had a bit of a glitch where we were moving stuff around and whatnot.
Yeah, and I think I got to fill a bag for fiver on this.
I just asked the size.
So it would be one of the pink bags we'd fill.
I've just woken up.
I've been asleep for a couple of hours.
Like I said, not too well.
But it's an ongoing issue with me, isn't it?
You know, so it's not like I might have a couple of months where I'm good and then a couple of months where I'm bad and back at it and back out and all the rest of it, isn't it?
So but we get so many pound clothes in, I can't display them.
We've got rooms of pound clothes that we haven't even got out yet.
Literally rooms.
And I mean rooms floor to ceiling.
You know, and you know, I'm not kidding when I say that.
You know we maximize our space.
We got attics and shops full of clothes.
Honestly, we literally need other people now to come and pick up these bags and start putting them online and start selling them off.
Or do a pop up shop in your living room.
Or your WhatsApp group to your friends.
It don't matter if you don't sell them all.
You know, or take home three or four bags of these clothes.
They're all a pound each or you can fill a bag for a fiver.
But they got to go tonight, you know, things like that.
So this is what we're looking for now is people who can do some stuff online with Depart, eBay.
I don't know how Wattmote works.
I was looking for a pound for these items.
We want people to have a bargain.
I don't want them, you know, some people are saying you can get two or three for this.
I ain't interested.
I'm not interested at all with that.
I want people to have a bargain.
Okay, we go through it and we take off the best.
We put them up.
I mean, we've had jackets and we had lovely wax jackets and leather jackets and they sold for 100 quid, you know, and they're proper vintage items, clothes that have gone, jumpers and things like that.
I sold a lovely cappa jacket the other day to Rob.
It had the tags as well, didn't it, Rob?
He was a nice white.
Rob's been one of our supporters for a long time over at Pontypool since we started.
Had the cappa banding on it.
It had a tag on it.
A lady gave it to us from Cwm Branagh.
His son volunteered a few times.
We haven't heard of him for a while.
He's more than welcome to come back.
He's a good volunteer.
David his name is.
And she brought it in and it still had the tags on it and Rob bought it the other week.
It's been in a while.
It's been there since the summer.
But Rob came and he said, oh, I'm having our jacket this week.
You know, and it went for a couple of quid.
I think it was up for 20 and it went, you know, and that's what we like.
You know, we like to see people enjoying the items more than buying them to resell themselves.
So yeah, that's what we need is a couple of people to sell some items now online for us again.
Thanks guys.
This is one of our Vinted accounts.
