Oh, morning update guys - 3 Oct 2025 - (484 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank
Oh, morning update guys.
Awful weather.
I'm not going to be in Caerphilly till... well, I'm looking at half past ten.
Half past ten I should be there.
We've had a massive pick up we have from a charity shop this morning.
Lovely stuff.
Beautiful stuff.
Thank you so much.
Absolutely tons of stuff.
So I'm going to ask everybody now, if you're bringing stuff from the house, can you hang on to it for at least two weeks?
Until we can try and clear some room and
process what we've already got.
Unless it's one of our businesses or charity shops, then obviously we'll take them on a regular basis.
Or our house clearances, we'll take those.
But if I can ask everybody else to hang on to their donations for about two weeks.
The people... we're getting a lot of mothers asking us to pick up.
We can't, guys.
We're just too busy to pick up.
So unless you could arrange somebody yourself to drop it off to us, we're not going to be able to do pick up.
So I've got about four or five mothers that have got a car full of stuff each.
And we just can't pick up.
Okay, it's got to be dropped off, guys.
We're just too busy.
I'm really sorry.
Even if you were, you know... I've got collections that I'm supposed to do today.
Well, I'm supposed to do last night.
And I'm about to tell them, no I can't.
It's going to be a next week job because we're just too busy at the moment.
So I am sorry.
Like I said, if we're passing somewhere, we tend to pick stuff up.
But we're not passing your areas.
The cars and the vehicles are full 24-7 from the businesses and the charities that's giving us stuff.
So we haven't got room in the cars to pick up.
And we're processing thousands of tonnes worth of donations a day.
And we're just coming home and going straight to bed because we're exhausted, all of us.
I need volunteers in.
New starters, Caerphilly.
Risk getting closed today.
We've got staff sick best.
I'd rather shut a shop than somebody come in and be ill and then we all get it.
So don't come in if you're ill, if you're a volunteer, because none of us want to be ill.
We need to function to be able to operate.
So there we are, guys.
Like I said, you won't send you away.
If somebody turns up, if you're a little old person or somebody turned up with a bag of books, we're not going to send you away if you haven't seen the post.
But if you have seen the post, please hang on to your donations for two weeks for us because we need time to process now.
And we've got house clearances booked in.
