Right, so I've had a mum in, giving us some - 2 Oct 2025 - (973 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank
Right, so I've had a mum in, giving us some advice with a child who's got autism today actually.
So that's been nice.
So I'm thinking now, perhaps we'll do an autism cafe.
I'll see how much Mohamed can rent his cafe out in the evening for.
It might be that we go in the cafe, rent the cafe out, but then we have to pay for whatever we have, tea and coffees over there, I don't know.
I'll ask him because he's got a cafe, I forgot about him.
So I've just had another mother on top of that.
She's just had two bags full of fibre, you know, for a fibre of clothes, tons.
Oh, legs gone.
She's had her three nappies, size four, and she's had some toys.
She said, I'm coming back.
She said, I'm coming back, A, for the jumper rule, but B, for the toys for Christmas.
So don't forget, guys, these toys, right, the toys are five to six of them for a tenner.
OK, but I've told them to be liberal with them because look how many toys I got and there's some bagged up.
Daniel's got about 40 bags has come in down there now in Risca, right?
I've told them to be liberal with it.
So if it works out seven or eight, I ain't that bothered.
OK, because we've got tons.
I'm actually turning down toy charities and people with toys at the moment, because they're like, I can give you a van full a day.
And I'm like, I can't take them because we haven't got the room.
OK, so I mean, there's some good toys here in all the shops, Caerphilly.
There's some good toys.
OK, so they've been told it's not going to include like the vintage toys, the collectible toys, which would be in the cupboard or up.
OK, it's going to be these type of toys.
OK.
So it won't be like if it's like a vintage one in there or China dolls or, you know, anything like that.
China dolls they shouldn't be playing with anyway, because obviously their class is vintage.
It's it's other stuff.
So they they will come in and they'll work it out for you and they'll do you a deal.
All right, because we got so many.
Oh, look.
See, that would be one pound on today, guys.
Yeah, don't forget, we're on offer.
Tell all your friends.
I've just had one of our regulars in now at the pound shops.
I know you could get more for that.
You could get more for that.
I'm like, I know I could get more for it, but I don't want more for it.
I don't want more for it.
He's like, yeah, but I got five or six items here and you could get loads for these.
I'm like, I don't care.
I pound, fill a bag for a fiver.
Thank you for trying.
He said, well, should I bring it all down here?
No, leave it all up there.
It's fill a bag for a fiver.
I don't care anymore, guys.
It's fill a bag for a fiver.
We've got so much.
We're so lucky.
We're so blessed to have all these donations.
And like I said to you, if you support us, which you are, look at the donations we've got.
If you support us, we'll support you and I'll bring it to you as cheaply as I can.
I'm not here about the money.
It's about the recycling for me.
Yes, we need money to pay the bills.
Yes, we need money to buy the food banks and the nappies.
And, you know, the top-up shop and all the rest of it.
But, and to do other things like rent the cafe out and have an autism cafe where parents can come in and share their advice with each other and things like that.
But, boy, I'm not here to make a hundred pound on every item.
It's nice if I do make a hundred pound on an item.
But, you know, I'm here for the recycling.
This is my thing.
This is my autism.
Recycling.
This is what I like doing.
I love it when you come in and this guy's just come in and he's just bought a top.
You know, he's just bought the Man United top and he's like, oh, I love this.
And then I got another guy that's come in.
What did he buy?
He bought something.
And then the partner, the lady that's just come in, loves the British Airways for himself.
Not for the kids.
He's like, oh, I don't want it for the kids.
I want that for myself.
And I'm like, yeah, it's nice.
It's really lovely.
That is.
It's proper vintage and retro.
I said, yeah, it's nice.
You know, and look at all the lovely stuff.
You can't even see what we got in the cupboards.
Right?
You know, beautiful stuff.
Beautiful stuff.
I think the jumper was on hold till tomorrow as well.
I got a mum coming back for it.
Mum coming back.
Oh, DVDs.
They're up for £3 for a pound.
I think we're doing £10 for a pound, do we?
Well, yeah, to shift them.
Yeah, £10 for a pound.
I'm doing on the DVDs.
And if you're a mum, just come and get some for free.
Still got all this for free.
I've given quite a bit of this away today.
I got Moses baskets out there for a pound.
They've got to go.
More tomorrow.
I just had a family now has done a house clearance.
Bags and bags of stuff.
Down to Bristol Shop.
Yes, please, we'll take it.
We'll always take it.
Never be a time when we don't take it, guys.
Alright?
So that's been nice.
So I'm thinking now, perhaps we'll do an autism cafe.
I'll see how much Mohamed can rent his cafe out in the evening for.
