Look at that lovely sun - 19 Sep 2025 - (1,232 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank

Look at that lovely sun.
What's going on in the park?
Or there's something going on this weekend?
Perhaps we might swap and do Risca the weekend and not Caerphilly because there's only two of us in the weekend, unless somebody else is free.
Because there's obviously... is it like a cafe or something?
There's obviously something going on down here.
So perhaps we'll open up here I'm thinking.
I just had some lovely stuff here now.
And the gentleman was like, oh I don't suppose you want to end off and over.
I said yeah somebody would be looking for that something like that wouldn't they?
Even if we... because we can never find ours.
I said yeah we'll take that.
Hmm I'm wondering if we open up here tomorrow.
Is there some sort of craft fair going on?
I've been busy.
I've been going through them.
Priced.
Pricing stuff up in the cupboards.
We've still got quite a bit.
But I've done the dishes and now I'm soaking these minging things.
Next couple of days I'll soak them.
They needed soaking.
So yeah I'm trying to get the board games done.
So I can get a nice little stack there of the board games.
So that even though I haven't got room from out there, people can say, oh can I have a look at that twister a minute?
Or can I have a look at that one and we can pass it out can't we?
Don't forget we've got this paddling pool.
It could be used as a ball pit.
450 but it's too big for me to put out there.
So I think I got a couple of games.
I got a couple of older cars that's coming.
Right?
But like it's missing bits.
But I'm gonna check them online.
Because even though the children won't buy them, the resellers might still buy those.
I got a full bag of washing.
I got those to sort out there now and some teddies.
So I'll have a little look now and see what I can get done.
I haven't had many sales today.
The other shops have.
So well done.
Perhaps people are like, I'm going in there.
If I say the wrong thing, Jane will bounce me out.
You'll only be bounced out if you're a dickhead and you're a threat to myself or a threat to my staff, my customers and children.
Okay?
You won't just get bounced out for no reason.
Yeah, I got a couple of things to wash.
I don't know if I got the dolls to go with these things.
I got a couple of them.
They may be you know, because what I've done is emptied them out of the bags and put them in boxes because they're more stable in the boxes.
So yeah, I've still got a bit to do.
But I just keep plodding on and out because you never know when the next load is in.
See lovely toys though.
Like I said, we've got a couple of toys there.
That's a bit.
But even though sometimes like say that, say that car hasn't got any wheels for there now.
A reseller might still buy that or a collector might still buy it.
So I won't necessarily just bin that.
It might be that it just goes on top of a cabinet until somebody goes, I'll have that for 250.
You know, and they're not a child.
I'm going to let them soak in disinfectant those, you know, those sticky and squidgy things.
And then I can just put them in a basket and do them next week for a quid or something.
I'm trying to do the big stuff rather than small stuff.
Because obviously you get the big stuff, we can get it sorted.
Small stuff is a bit more in there.
Found my jumper.
Yeah, so I got to I got to try and wangle our washing bag out now.
It's quite full, because I need to take that to wash because we haven't got a machine down here.
Perhaps that's something we can look at it to in the new year because we've got space outside to dry here.
And then I'll let those soak in disinfectant.
But if there's some sort of fate or something going on in the park, perhaps I'll come down here tomorrow.
First thing.
See how it goes.
And if it's dead by lunchtime or if it's tipping down, we'll rain, go to Caerphilly now.
Not the end of the world.
I can knit the bed to a swing, can't I?
I got a pair of shoes I want to tie up by there now.
I still got stuff in my car, but it's stuff that's fallen out of the bags now.
Oh, I feel that coming back up to us full.
We have ball pit balls, quite a few in both in none in Caerphilly, but in the other two shops.
If you ever need any, let us know, because we have gone, but we do store them up out of the way because they're a bit of a nuisance, especially if they get pulled out.
So, yes, I'm still cracking on, guys.
I'm still cracking on.
I had a nice new customer and he said make it up to a tenner.
I've come to like eight pounds and he said make it up to a tenner.
So that was nice of him.
I've had a few people wandering, but not so many customers as such today.
But I usually get them on when they come back from the school.
So now we might get a few mums in.
If they've seen something on the videos, they might come in.
But yeah, you'll only be bounced out if you had a problem.
Yeah.
So, so the last one pair of clothes yesterday.
So, yeah, I'm going to crack on now.
I might.
I'm looking for some lights now to go in the windows, because obviously, the lights at the windows look nice and the darker evenings are coming in.
So we'll get a nice little like a rope light or something down here and put it in the window or something.
LED.
LED is better because they don't get hopsy.
And but it'll be on a timer anyway.
But, of course, like sometimes there's no point, unless you leave your four o'clock on the dot.
Sometimes it's not worth leaving here to like after six because of the traffic, depending on which way you're going or where you're going.
So we would have the lights on like I would probably yesterday.
I went over to Pontypool to give them an hand because they had a load of donations in and I knew we had a load of donations to pick up from elsewhere and they were coming down here.
But today I'm going to stay here.
So what I might do is just crack on and just keep pricing.
See how I go in there.
See how I go.
Because here I have had customers coming up as five or six, you know, in this particular shop.
And there's always something to do in there, guys, you know.
Never run out of work when you're with us, that's for sure.
Right, so I'm going to crack on, I think, guys.
