Oh, we've had quite a few donation bags in, some - 10 Sep 2025 - (1,865 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank
Oh, we've had quite a few donation bags in, some lovely stuff, nice fancy dress, lots of nice stuff again.
We've got a shelf donated that we've got to try and put it back together,
like a hairdresser's shelf with the purse bits on.
I've got to try and see if I can get it up now and then it'll be easy to fix.
But it's all there, we'll sort it out.
Might need some extra screws in it but I've got to get that sorted.
Go through these donations.
I found some plastic because I've got bags of toys but you can't see them.
I could do with some clear plastic.
So apparently, on the website now, I haven't looked, I haven't looked.
Somebody's told me I get an update.
I say to them, is there anything I need to know online about me or is it the same ship?
Different day.
Apparently now, Sherlock is going after Torfaen Council.
So narcissistic, isn't it?
Going after now Torfaen Council because they gave me the information that he'd requested or they'd requested, because it's a group of people it is,
prior to it going out to him or to the person who was dealing with it.
And yeah, they are.
They give you an option to appeal it.
So I didn't appeal it because I got nothing to hide.
I said, well, this is the case.
This is my answers to those questions, if you wanted to add it in there.
And they were happy with it.
So, you know, not everybody can be wrong, Sherlock.
You know, this is what happened when I put in the subject access request for Hayley Thomas.
She refuted it.
And that's why it took longer than a month for me to get it.
It took three months because she actually put in an appeal not for it to be released.
And then we released the information to prove that she was reporting us.
And since then, we haven't seen anybody from the council since then.
You know, so because obviously they were conversing back and forth with her and they shouldn't have been, you know, I can put a complaint in about anybody, but they shouldn't be conversing back and forth, especially when they're on site.
That's for sure.
But like I said, we got a we got inside people on the inside everywhere.
We see everything.
And if we don't come, I will get you.
So, yeah, Sherlock is now picking on Torfaen Council.
Torfaen Council, you have my full backing.
And thank you for contacting me first.
So, yes, thank you for that.
So we might be getting some donations picked up now.
Getting some mothers to pick up donations, but I think we're going to need another premises pretty sharpish down here.
We need we need one Torfaen.
We need one here.
I've had a few customers in, but they've literally come in and got what they wanted.
So whether they've seen it online or seen it previously and got it and gone, you know, they haven't stayed to browse because of the weather, but miserable old weather and it goes really is really is got a new starter.
Well, we've got two because I got one picking up, one picking up and one.
I've got chocolate malt chocolate Horlicks.
Somebody left it in the kitchen.
So I'm like, what's this?
If I owe you Horlicks, let me know.
But everywhere I looked, it was really expensive.
So if you see the chocolate Horlicks.
Cheap, like pound shop.
Well, I don't know if there's any pound shops left, is there?
Oh, whatever.
If you see it cheap, let me know.
Because it's like four pound or everywhere else I looked.
My dad's going to have a look for one in Lidl's like their own brand.
I was going to say something else when I can't remember what I was going to say.
I don't know.
Yeah, we could do with some more volunteers now, guys.
Again, because we're taking on more and more donations now.
And it's just exhausting.
We don't stop.
Sammy's on a day off today and she's done two pickups today for me on a day off.
You know, we've covered a few will to do it.
And she's gone down to Panaff to pick up something and down to Newport.
So, you know, this is how wide we are.
You know, this is how wide our scope is.
So, yes, we we've invested in a new gazebo as well, because ours is at it now.
I think we've had it for five years.
We had it when we went up Abba Bargo.
But I've got a slightly bigger one.
I've got a three by two.
Got a three by two.
Lovely closing, guys.
Really nice closing again.
The rag bag has gone.
That's been taken.
So that's going to be taken down to one of the clove banks because they take rags.
But I've written on it rags.
So when it comes into then, they'll be like, all right, James already done this is rags.
Because they know us because we're authorized pickups.
Pick up of the overflow from the bins, you know,
to prevent the bin dippers.
There was something else I was going to say.
I don't think.
No.
So it's been a bit it's very quiet here.
It's like really quiet, like you really like you use buzzing quiet.
I don't know.
And that's it really.
We've had some one person beep their own because they couldn't get past.
And that's it.
The rest of it's been quiet all day.
It's funny, you know, you really quiet like.
But then the weather's rubbish.
I don't know if it's going to improve.
We all need to manifest it to be dry in the daytime rain at night.
It's good for the plants and the gardens and the farmers.
And all the rest of it.
But you have Paul to vine council getting it in the neck now.
Oh, give it up in here.
Give it up, you fool.
Making yourself look good.
I mean, I don't need to say it, but I think they're making themselves a right dead case.
And they really are.
And we're just over your sorting donations.
I just got that and I was reduced from the shop.
They do some good deals on the shop.
Look at these are coming.
That's a platyosaurus in there, I think.
Or it might be a stegosaurus.
That's a tyrannosaurus.
I've had a load of these knitted ones then.
What's that one then?
What would you say that one is?
A stegosaurus or a platyosaurus?
Is platyosaurus the one that goes in the water?
Fab and they might do them.
It's a set.
They've been hand made.
I've got some nice... I've said that I think.
I've got some nice dressing up in.
I'm out of hangers now, but I'm out of hanging space.
It would be too much then.
I've got some more books to go through.
Always something in there.
Always something.
How many days until Christmas now, guys?
Won't be long, will it?
I'm going away.
We're going away.
Ford Aventura, I think we're going.
It's the only time we get a break, see.
Between Christmas and New Year, that week is very, very quiet.
Sometimes the volunteers go in, but they don't open up.
They just go in and do work or whatever.
Or move stuff around that they've been on about for a while and we haven't had a chance to do it.
So they do that.
Funny in Pontypool without the pound shop being there.
It's funny in there because it's always been there.
You know, or there's always been a shop in there because Wilko's shut and then they went in.
I wonder who's going to go next.
I think body care is definitely going.
I didn't realize they had so many shops.
And I don't know where else it's going now.
But it's not a good time to be in retail for anybody and any businesses starting up.
I feel sorry for them, like.
I can have my ham and my hot cocoa.
No, it's not.
It's Horlicks.
It's not cocoa, isn't it?
I don't know.
I'm not a fan of Horlicks, but this one's all right.
But will it be a brand thing?
Will it be that I've got to have that brand and then it'd be expensive because it'd be like four or five pound a tub?
I need to have a heart attack when I looked online to see how much it was.
Amazon was the worst.
It was like 20 odd pound or something.
Well, 20 odd pound for six, I think.
So it would have worked out cheaper to get it from Amazon.
But it was a lot, wasn't it?
Everything is so expensive at the moment.
That's the trouble, isn't it, guys?
Everybody's struggling.
Before long, we'd have to start putting the heating on and then that'll cost us.
I think I'm still in credit a little bit with the heating.
Not a lot, though, I don't think.
Not a lot.
It used to be my thing.
I used to go home, put the heating on, because I can't function if I'm cold.
But now I got electric blanket and hot water bottles and foil blankets.
That's what I had to put on now.
I want... have you seen those sleeping bag suits with legs in?
That's what I want to come to work in.
Because I'm like, well, I've got to be able to work, see, because it's all very well having a hot water bottle and a heater, but you can't move away from it.
Once you move away from it, you're freezing, you know.
And those little heaters, they burn quite a lot of electric.
And it's like a false heat, you know, and you're even colder when you come away from it.
So at the moment, I'm layering.
But...
I do fancy one of those.
So if you come in and you see me in one of my sleeping bag suits, just move along.
Move along.
I need to be hot to function.
I'm quite warm today.
I've got short sleeves on, so I took my jumper off today.
But I got a couple of layers on, see?
And I put a couple of layers on my feet.
I find if my feet get cold, I've had it.
I've had it in.
But I couldn't move for cats this morning because I had the electric blanket on.
I'd probably blow it up.
I end up blowing them up.
I have them on so long, they blow up.
You go through a lot of electric blankets.
They just burn out, don't they?
It's good, see, because I'd wrap them around my knees as well, and it keeps my knees warm then.
And helps my knees.
But yeah, it's been funny.
It's really quiet here today.
I can't even hear nothing in the town.
It's really quiet.
Oh, I've got a customer, I think.
