Hi you guys - 5 Sep 2025 - (618 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank
Hi you guys.
So a massive thank you to Poundland Pontypool.
They've just brought over excess stock for us.
Thank you very much for that.
Thank you to Citizens Advice because they are working on... working on costings for us to start costing people.
Now that Sian, for instance, bothered me at half past ten last night, I think.
Roughly about half past ten till about God knows what time.
I don't even know if the post is still up.
So then we would bill for those hours that I had to deal with that because it was false information given because obviously, you know, it was it was an old post that had been shared as a memory and she's gone around the place telling everybody we're giving out-to-date baby food when we're not,
you know, taking it upon ourselves.
We know it's her.
We've had... because A, she sent me a message that was like four pages long.
I didn't bother reading after the two lines.
And then B, the admins have told us that it was her on the group.
So we know it's her.
So we just need to send her the billable hours for me to deal with that.
And also, any costs that were incurred and any damages to our hand.
It would be funny now if they come back because they're going to work it out.
How much I would be paid on social media.
How much it's damaged our business.
How much is done blah blah blah.
You know, and all the rest of it.
And obviously, it can affect other mothers in the community from accessing our services because there's false information that's been given out.
Which is fair enough, I think.
It's fair enough if you're going to be mouthing off and saying stuff that's not true and being horrible to us.
We are a sustainable business.
We've been here five years.
I did put a post up last week to say we were going to start charging people.
But obviously I needed to stand up in court as well.
So by going through Citizens Advice they will work out a reasonable amount that is acceptable for our business It's a charge for me to deal with it per hour.
And then for the damages that you've actually created to the business and how many groups you've posted on.
I think she posted on five or six.
Well, you know, the impact depends doesn't it?
You know, if a group's got 21,000 members and then another group has got 3,000.
Obviously, the amount of impact as well I think small claims courts is just under 10,000.
So it's probably what we would be going for just via one post.
Because, you know, it's just so every time you post about us, not only do we get paid on social media but we're also going to be claiming costs from you now as well.
Because we are a sustainable business.
We've been here five years.
The council support us.
The police don't arrest us for what we're doing because we aren't doing anything wrong.
Trading standards don't arrest us because we haven't done anything wrong.
We're doing what we, you know, what every other secondhand shop in the country does.
Only we're giving all the profits back into the business and to help others.
That's the only difference is we're a not-for-profit business.
So, yeah, it's going to cost you guys.
If you want to be posting about us, it's going to cost you.
Simple as.
Don't forget, we are trademarked.
So if you've used our name, our logo, anything, we're trademarked as well.
So you're actually in breach of trademark law.
