Other "charities " don't like us because we tell the truth and make them uncomfortable.
Families come to us as their last resort or their first because they know other food bank/baby bank referals mean they will get social services knocking the door. We have had numerous parents tell us that social services have turned up like the gestapo and started going through their cupboards. WE DO NOT MAKE SOCIAL SERVICES REFERALS UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. I have had accredited children and safeguarding training from Cardiff University and Caerphilly Council. This request for example does not require a social services referal. It requires help and compassion and ACTION. Please be careful which charities and baby banks you support as some make the parents in need, lives more unbearable. Asking for help takes courage and humility. Our families know they can come to us and we will help them where ever we can without dragging them through social services. We give them what they need to help them out of their tough spot and empower them them to self refer to agencies that may help them. Please please please support the right Baby Bank And Foodbanks. All donations accepted, food, nappies, clothes and finacial contribution greatly accepted. We are regulated by 3 county councils and the Financial Conduct Authority.
