So... for old followers and new followers, just to be transparent as much as possible.
We are a registered mother and baby bank, non profit business, food bank, community tea and coffee, biscuit cafe with CCBC, we are waiting on our food hygiene 'mitchellin' stars. CCBC are aware we are running a non profit shop and they are aware we have submitted CIC application, and awaiting to submit full charity registration but are waiting on 2 items from DVLA for identification, (DVLA have been in contact with me), all applications have been completed. HMRC are aware we running a non profit shop and are waiting to register us for corporation tax. My mother is sat there surrounded by a mountain of receipts etc from 2020 doing our accounts. We have public liability insurance covering us for loads of activities on and off the property, trustee and employors insurance.
All proceeds made from fundraising are used to cover running costs, nappies and formula and food bank purchases, and specific items that families with specific needs my require. We do regular fundraising at car boot sites, and pop up shops at various markets across the UK and have done since 201 7.* We have two perment market pitches and a lock up. We are applying for a 3rd permanent market place. We are always desperate for volunteers, and looking for cheap units or shops (must have running water/toilet/no steps and electric - anything else we can build or sort).
We have drop off points all across South East Wales. We have helped fill two shipping containers with toys and clothes for Africa, and we are doing a 3rd with car seats. We have helped with collections for the Ukraine and are collecting single lense glasses for India and Africa. We are a zero waste organisation and work with several other charities and groups and businesses to help them or take items that they can not dispose of to prevent landfill by helping families either by giving the items direct for free or fundraising for the above costs. We also help other charities and to fundraise.
Both me and my son and other family members and volunteers have clean rolling DBS checks. Childcare qualifications and I have received a great deal of training via the NMC and the local health and education boards in South East Wales. (Both know and support and folow us). I am trained in midwifery, nursing adults, elderly, chronically ill, and children's nursing and health visiting. I am trained in children, behaviour and autism and learning difficulties education and care and nursing.
I am trained in data protection, safeguarding and confidentiality.
Me and other family memebers have worked for the eduction boards for over 30 years between us and I worked in behavioural education for 10. Many of our familiy members have worked and trained with the health boards and the NMC for for a combined total of 142 years between us all. I also worked in sales, marketing and profit protection of major companies that trade world wide for 20 years. Until I became serious ill in 2012. Yes - I am a work alholic 😆.
We choose to start are entity because of the lack of help for families and keyworkers during the Global Pandemic. Prior to that we run a little rescue CIC* (fundraising from 2017-2020 for pet food and hutches etc). but couldn't bare to part with any of the rescues so we kept them all 🤣🐾
Previously we were Voluntary fundraisers assigned to St John Ambulance in their building. Voluntary rolling year fundraisers for Children in Need and Velindre.
If you have any questions give me a shout.
