If the job centre has asked you to find volunteer work then this is a DWP requirement: -

Job center need to make sure in advance :-

You have time sheets
You need first aid/fire safty/food hygiene/health & safety and manual handling training in place at their expense
Food allergie training.
A rolling enhanced DBS in place
You need to have no criminal convictions or pending or social services recommendations that you are not allowed around babies/?children and vulnerable adults.
They need to pay your travel expenses and your lunch expenses.
