Volunteers: (and customers if buying electricals), we are starting off by testing all the items staff would use but it's useful for customer too and mums at home.
1. Check pat test is complete, via sticker and in date before use, ie hoover
2. Check connection of lead to appliance and general condition of items before use
3. Check cable is not damaged or open wires, do not use if there is cable damage.
4. Check the plug is on securely.
5. We have power breakers in the shops too so before you plug something in make sure you have the power breaker in place. For example if you were mowing and mowed the cable the power breaker would cut off the elecric surply immediately.
6.Don't wrap cords around appliances they need to be folded at the side with and elastic band or loose cable ties, wrapping them around the appliance puts stress on the cables.
7. Only trained individuals can do pat testing.
8. Let me or Dan know immediately if you think an appliance is dodgy.
