Just for awareness this shop has very little foot fall - 11 Jul 2026 - (539 words) - Jaynes Baby Bank

Just for awareness this shop has very little foot fall. We were denied access to have stuff out the front or back by the council including cafe chairs. There is rear parking but you constantly get blocked in by the vape shop and barber shop drivers who won't move their cars or damage your car.

We found out that the landlord had remortgaged or something using us as an example of sitting tenants which doesn't affect us financially but I wouldn't advise anyone to do this in this current economic climate. I feel thats why it was made easy for us to get in there to use us as collateral. We were going to try and keep this shop and open a warehouse in Caerphilly tbh.

The landlord changed the locks on us when we failed to pay rent unfortunately due to increased lack of footfall. He then started to become irratic stating he needed to pay his mortgage obviously from this increase debt he had taken out.
Didn't give us an opportunity to collect our shop contents. When we did turn up to try and start emptying the shop he illegally detained us and blocked my car in. Rang the police on himself. Threatened Dan, followed me all the way down to the castle shouting at me in my face on foot, tried to shoulder me into a Bush! This was caught on camera by Dan and a mother who was videoing it. He was then given a CRO I think by the police who did have a go at him and then tried to damage the wing mirror of my car nearly and hour later while the police were standing there watching him! 🙄😱 at this point he was completely unapproachable and paranoid.

He was also a member of the malicious group which i think he became obsessed with and paranoid. I'm not paying any rent to a landlord who's part of that group sorry on principle. We have some really nice and good supportive landlords who have worked with us to retain us through the abuse we have received.

He was told by the police to go through a solicitor to deal with shop. He didn't. He has illegally taken our shop stuff and equipment. Dragged another business into it from Bedwas. Who phoned him to come and get the stuff and played holly hell with him over it as it is stolen goods. We thank the business involved and obviously would not press charges. He has now dumped the stuff on another charity illegally. So we have to pursue this with the police and charity commission . We gave him to the option to leave it all outside the donations centre on 4 separate occasions and he refused. We have engaged the court and police to deal with it.

Little Risca landlord was a good landlord but didn't give us notice he was emptying the shop legally as he should have. Again lack of footfall with Risca shop.

We are now going to use the same model as other charity shops and look for warehouses rather than shops as unfortunately the high streets are dying a death.
